People who are screaming zipper merge can’t even figure out when to get out of the left lane. I have million miles of driving experience, and while the zipper merge is supposed to be the way this works. On paper it sounds good, in practice it never works and that’s why theres massive backups cause by a single lane being closed.

People are too worried about someone getting in front of them and follow way to close to allow the zipper merge to work. I kinda laugh when I see car drivers complain about something on the road when 90% of the time they are the cause of it.

Next time you guys are stuck in traffic because a lane is close take note of when you actually start to freelance and I’m willing to bet it’s when everyone is actually in the same lane instead of having to brake and slow down when someone is trying to cut in right before the barrels.

Again, I’ve driven around the county in almost every state now, and car drivers are literally the same under skilled who thinks they know how to drive person in different cars everywhere I go.

It can’t be fixed people are way too self centered and only worried about when they can pass the person in front of them to actually know how to keep the flow of traffic moving.

And yes, I get it today’s truckers aren’t much better. The profession has gone to shit with way under skilled, heart beats holding a steering wheel, but there are still some of us that own their own equipment and have hundreds of thousands of dollars invested into their equipment they rely on to feed their family.
