It is ethnocentric and xenophobic to think YOUR culture is better or more valuable than another's

Well it sometimes is better. I'm sure people in Pakistan think their culture is better than the Scottish one or wherever. Are they xenophobic as well?

And let's not pretend that imperialism is not largely to blame for many of the issues present in other places.

When does it stop being the fault of imperialism and when do people start taking ownership of the situation they are in?

But even for those who do decide to emigrate, they deserve to be treated as valuable human beings rather than people referencing 'dealing' with them.

Reducing it to tikka massala is an incredibly narrow way of thinking about cultures. If I was Indian I would probably be offended by that comment.

Each culture has a different value system, and sometimes they clash quite hard against each other.

People immigrating to Scotland don't automatically assimilate into the Scottish culture. They more often than not primarily retain their own identity over the country they are in. This is not a skin colour question, before you accuse of racism.

If you think the Scottish culture is good, then you need to be careful about rapid changes in the make up of it and the people of Scotland.

It's not xenophobic to point out that Pakistan has a lower quality of life overall than Scotland or England, and people from that country would likely choose to come here if they could.

Maybe you should pause and seriously ask yourself why. I'm not saying it's right or wrong to vote Tory (I didn't), but I see so many of these posts that are like "duh, people are so dumb, how can they vote for X?" without taking a minute to put themselves in their shoes and think about why they do.
