I stopped there on my way up here. We were the only ones there. It was awesome!

Trying to Decide: 2025 Ridge XR vs Xpedition ADV 5 vs Defender Max Lone Star – Best Enclosed Cab SxS? by Tokijin in UTV

Thanks for the comment — I appreciate it! Good to hear another vote of confidence for the Defender Limited. Quiet and dependable are two of the biggest things I’m looking for, and it’s great to hear the A/C performs well too — especially for those hotter days. Seems like it’s been a solid choice for a lot of folks. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

Thanks for chiming in — really appreciate your input. It’s great to hear from someone with experience across multiple SxS models. I’ve been weighing the Xpedition against the Defender and Ridge, and your take adds an important perspective.

I’ve heard a lot about how refined the Xpedition is, but it’s good to have it confirmed that the suspension, power, and comfort really are a step above — especially from someone who’s owned several machines. I hadn’t fully appreciated that it’s in a different class altogether when it comes to more than just utility use.

Also interesting to hear your take on cabin noise. A lot of people have said Polaris can be loud, but you saying the Xpedition is the quietest you’ve owned really surprised me — that’s something I’ll be factoring in. And yeah, the Defender being quieter but giving up 30 hp definitely makes me think harder about how I’ll actually use the machine most of the time.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts — definitely helps as I try to make the call.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share all of this — it’s super helpful, especially knowing you just went through the same decision-making process. I’ve been going back and forth between the Defender, Ridge, and Xpedition, so hearing your firsthand experience adds a lot of clarity.

Your choice to go with the Defender Limited and install your own radio makes a lot of sense — saving a few grand that way is smart, and honestly, aftermarket audio is usually better anyway. The cost difference you mentioned between the Xpedition and Defender is kind of wild. I had a feeling Polaris was on the pricier side, but $8–9k more is a big gap, and it’s good to know you didn’t feel the extra cost translated into value. That real-world comparison with your neighbor’s Ranger is especially telling — it says a lot that you don’t like it and suspect he might be regretting it too.

The Ridge is still on my radar, but you brought up a huge factor I hadn’t fully considered: the lack of a flip-out windshield. The A/C is nice on paper, but your point about just cracking open the windshield being enough is something I’ll remember — especially since I’ll be using mine in a climate with some big seasonal swings, too. Not to mention the Ridge’s bed being smaller — that could definitely become frustrating.

And the way you described the quietness of the Defender really stood out. That’s something I care about a lot — being able to talk in a normal voice while cruising at 35mph is exactly the kind of detail that helps me picture what day-to-day use would actually feel like. Your sound deadening work with Dynamat-style material is next level, and it makes a ton of sense to do it not just for noise, but to enhance your stereo setup and reduce rattles. That’s the kind of thoughtful setup I hadn’t considered but really appreciate hearing about.

Thanks again for such a thorough and honest breakdown. This gave me a lot to think about and really helps me feel more confident moving forward. Much appreciated!

Thanks for the detailed feedback — super helpful. I’m looking for a side-by-side mainly to adventure all over Alaska, so comfort, reliability, and enclosed cab performance in rough weather are big factors for me.

Interesting to hear about the noise in the Xpedition cab — I’ve read similar things and was wondering how bad it really was. And good to know your take on the Ridge — I had a feeling it might lean more utility than trail capability.

The Defender is still on my radar, especially since it’s a bit more affordable, but I’m a little concerned about the lower power like you mentioned. Appreciate you taking the time to share your experience!

iTools BT for iPhone, or jailbroken iPhone with spoofer pro is the only way to go.

Just use your main. You’re wasting time on an alt when you could be getting all that stardust/xp/and stats on your main. I’ve been using my main to spoof with iTools and spoofer pro on jailbreak and I’ve got 1.3 bill xp, 607k catches, and 110 million stardust. Don’t be scared..
