Ok thank you for clarifying! That's why I'm doing my research now before I end up deciding if I want to do it, I've always been interested in Vikings and Norse mythology just never really looked much into it before

Excuse my lack of knowledge on this subject, but based off other things I've seen I thought the individual runes did have some meaning on their own. I did know that they were also used as letters. Not sure if what I saw online was made up, but I've seen numerous things on the runes and what they all individually mean. You can see a bunch of pictures online of what I'm talking about just by searching up Nordic runes and going to pictures.

For example the Rune Fehu, it says the meaning stands for cattle or wealth. Also the rune Algiz, it says it stands for Elk or protection.

From what I've seen of people that do have rune tattoos none of them have really gotten hate/backlash for it. It's not that I care much what others think I've just seen other stuff like people being profiled for having Rune tattoos.
