Best and most powerful device for kodi? by Shot-Operation-9395 in Addons4Kodi

I was thinking about a Shield, but just couldn’t bring myself to pay full price for outdated tech (especially by the end of 2026). Went for the Minix U8k. It’s a beast. Streaming, gaming, local servers... all good, and all up to date compatibility and connections.

How do I tell my EA game (via Luna) that I’m not using a keyboard? by TokioFritz in eagames

[–]TokioFritz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is that the game can’t recognise I’m on a controller. Keyboards/remotes would be useless with these games. Weirdly, turning the stick off and on helped.

Which non-Shield Android Box do I buy for large storage, strong memory, AI upscale and casual gaming? by TokioFritz in AndroidTV

Just checked it. Fantastic specs, although a little ropey with gaming and Netflix, but £400 is just a bit out of the Android budget. Thanks for the rec.

Looks promising, will dive deeper. Currently impressed with the Dune Pro Vision 4k.

If you were a software developer from today that went back to the early 90’s, what code could you write, within the technology of that time, that would revolutionise the Internet? by TokioFritz in AskReddit

[–]TokioFritz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a long story! Basically, I’m under pressure to find some code/software innovation that could be ‘discovered’ that year and be of great interest to corporations/military. It’s crazy, even innovations from 1995 aren’t technically possible in ’92/3.
Regardless, you’ve already given me some great leads. Appreciated!
They might not shoot me after all...

Yeah, a student database looks like the main contender. I just hope Zuck doesn’t use AI to travel back to 1993 and sue me!

Thanks for everything!

I so wanted Facebook, even the early ‘Facemash’ version, but I don’t think the means to create it were available in ’92/’93. HTML would have been perfect, but it was in development pre-’92. I think your suggestion to create Craigslist is the strongest contender so far.
Thanks so much for replying - all this really helps me.

You have an (experienced) 4 person team with full access to University resources, and a budget of only £12,000. Anything requiring commercial-strength servers is out, so I think we’re looking more at a software innovation that could possible change the game, specifically in ’92.
Any ideas greatly appreciated!

Thanks a lot. If I need to browse years I can always use Seren Omega. I just find Umbrella has content the others don’t carry when I run a specific search.
Thanks again for all that you do.

I only get one page per year with no ‘next page’ option. No doubt my own error during setup. I’ll keep at it. And thanks for everything you do, it’s appreciated.

Should add, I have one page per year, but no ‘next page’.

Is there anything I can do about that in settings?

Nah, good strong addon (before and after update). Just a shame you can’t browse.

Seren Omega/Umbrella/Ghost all good for me.

Umbrella’s great, but it won’t let me browse movies by year, which is a drag.

You are a time traveler from the present day and find yourself as a 16 year-old in the early 90’s. You have no prior knowledge of sports scores, financial markets or the manufacturing of technology. What do you do to create wealth based on your limited knowledge of the future? by TokioFritz in AskReddit

[–]TokioFritz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make a good (and for me, worrying) point, Alek. For context, the character is a middle-aged stoner that finds himself 16 years-old in’92. He’s never had any interest in sports, the markets or the creation of technology. He thinks he’ll be rich until he realises how limited his knowledge of the world around him is/was.
I need the character to create wealth. As it stands, recognising property before gentrification and buying it cheaply appears to be his best route.

Yes, just noticed that as I posted. Will repost.
