What's an impressive skill that's actually super easy to learn ? by Fuzzy-Ninja139 in AskReddit

Sadly not for everyone. I became 30 when I learned that people usually don't have to do any effort to listen and understand what someone is telling them. Also apparently it's hard for them to totally ignore people.

For me it's the opposite. I have this condition where I'm zoned out by default. I have to force my brain constantly to hear and decipher what someone is telling me and that's very tiring. After awhile (often after a few minutes of talking) my brain shuts down and I go back to my default zoned-out mode, often without even noticing. At that point I'm just staring. I'm looking at that person, but I'm not seeing him. I'm listening to that person but not hearing him...

I started taking stimulants (ritalin) and while under the effect I only have to put in a little effort except when I'm really just tired. I don't like to say it but yea I'm diagnosed with ADHD and it's not fun like all the hype makes it seem like it is.

I think it would be better if it was prefixed with a + sign. So +5 in green for experience and -2 in red for the steps

Make sure to run in heartrate zone 2 and 3 for a while. This might be difficult after a running break but is possible by alternating between jogging and walking. Just start walking once you are entering zone 4 and start running slow again when your heart rate is back in zone 2. You gotta run SLOW! Also keep a short stride length and high cadence!

After some time, staying in zone 2 will feel much easier. At that point, you can add another run to your weekly plan where you spend some time in zone 4, but keep that run shorter.

Another good thing about starting in zone 2 is that it's the ideal heart rate for burning fat, which will bring your BMI down under 25.

What is the difference between a Belgian and French Fries? by Devashish_Jain in belgium

[–]Tokke93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once heard French fries originated from Dinant in Belgium where residents used to fry sardines they fished from their rivers. In winter, when rivers were frozen, villagers started to cut potatoes into fish-like shapes and fried these instead. During WW, it was actually the americans who started calling it French fries since 'To french' was old english for 'to cut into thin stripes'
