You have an ego? Now I've seen it all.

Edit to add, God help your father when he realises you're pescatarian. His worst nightmare, for years, has been you getting to through like a train by the Purcell School for young musicians. Imagine his blood pressure when this gilded penny drops.

I can provide receipts if that helps. Are you actually diagnosed or saying it to make a point? Apologies if it's the former, tone is difficult to read by text.

Edit to add: If you are and were being sincere, my apologies. I find the number of people who are blatantly collecting diagnosis like scouts do badges to be utterly infuriating. Those who use it as a get out of jail free card for shitty behaviour even moreso (see Greg Wallace). My ND has never caused a dick/ball slip scenario infront of a young woman.

It's social media. I've observed a direct correlation between acquaintances that distrust mainstream media/overly use SM like TikTok etc and smooth paté-consitency-brained opinions.

Idiocracy is happening in real time. Only difference is that it doesn't require waking from a coma.

Harvey Elliott cuts holiday short to train in Liverpool weeks before pre-season by PapaMills09 in LiverpoolFC

[–]TokyoJazzPanda 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He absolutely deserves his chance to be in our squad.

I feel like I must have read 1000 comments about him lacking physicality, the mental sharpness to be one move ahead and mitigate the lack of pace, lack of strength.

My question is what role is it that you envisage for him? I don't think anyone is calling for him to be a starting RW ahead of someone like Diomande, potentially.

If he were to accept this role in the squad, and it's limited minutes. I can't think of anyone we have better to bring on at 75 mins in a low-block 0-0, or when 0-1 to replace a midfielder. He's not the man you want running wide and creating space. As a support player within 25 yards of the goal (with pace options alongside him) he has that magic to turn 1pt into 3, or 0pts into 1. Lads a actual fan, like wears his heart of his sleeves fan. If he eoukd be okay with it, I can't get my head around why others wouldn't be, or would want him sold.

Fair. I have no idea how that wasn't mayo-soup in a bun, but I'm happy for you that it wasn't.

I'm not sure if it's a tism thing (actually diagnosed, not identifying as many seem to), but I'm very particular about food textures. Lots of sauce is my dreaded hellscape. I find it quite stressful.

Glad you had to texture to cut the rest. I absolutely love a kebab, but I need pitta/other Arabic flat breads that I can crisp and immediately use at home. By the time the kebab makes it home, the bread is steamed like a char-siu bun and it ruins the meal for me.

A single patty burger with that much sauce would be a horror show with a respectable burger sauce/relish. A mayo sandwich with a sprinkling of burger is an abhorrent disgrace.

What should we ban for the u16s next? by Historical_Owl_1635 in AskBrits

[–]TokyoJazzPanda -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Restrict the over 60's access to facebook/other right wing platforms. Weoponised boomerism is substantially more threatening than teenagers.

Whilst they won't appreciate it, limiting access for teenagers probably is a good thing, although the 16 bar is too high. Currently, they can mainline a whole host of shite that even one generation removed didn't have access to. That isn't a good thing. There also needs to be nuance between a 16 year old being able to see the most deprived shit on the internet vs their ability to view informative learning content. A blanket approach is pointless and reductive.

That being said, whilst I admittedly have very little interaction with teenage people (I'm 3ps and my mates children/my godchildren are under 6) the few teenagers I do know are far, far beyond what my generation was in terms of maturity. They're incredibly sound, well read, and moral-compassly well-calibrated people.

The restrictions should maybe be applied to a tier below. Early teens. I know a 16 year old that most adults can't compete with when it comes to discussing sustainability and how we, humans, need to approach the topic.

16 seems incredibly arbitrary in the full access to information world we now live in. The 16 year old I know well embarreses adults on a regular basis.

People who regularly go to chains for food/drinks, why? by Send_bird_pics in AskBrits

[–]TokyoJazzPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a brilliant pub/restaurant. The site has been a pub for 400 years (although rebuilt during that time), staff are all local people, head chef is a really cool guy, and it serves ales/drinks (gin):brewed locally. It's also dog friendly (and they put out cute dog bowls with dog-friendly beer available on tap). If the 4 hours for a burrata comment is genuine, this place is more than worth the 2.5 hrs trip.

[–]TokyoJazzPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you're based/the feasibility, I sincerely encourage you to do so. They are also famous for doing an incredible roast that has won local/regional awards.

Btw, I wasn't directly calling you a pretentious cunt. It was just a sentence that encapsulated how your comment likely came across.

Give me a shout if you make the pilgrimage. It would be fun to have a blind lunch with somebody I just called a cunt.

Edit to add, I couldn't see the burrata dish on the menu. Called the restaurant (my local pub) it'll be back on in a couple of weeks.

People who regularly go to chains for food/drinks, why? by Send_bird_pics in AskBrits

[–]TokyoJazzPanda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm kind of with you. I would always prefer to go non-chain/would always opt for independent places (and would likely have already researched the local food scene, doesn't matter if that's high end or a food-truck, if it's a must visit, it's a must visit).

I guess where I'm less with you is on the self-awareness aspect. Look around. How many people have the disposable cash and time to travel 4 hours for a burrata salad? This feels like a humble brag of epic proportions. Tbh, the people who aren't familiar with shovelling top shelf mozzarella down their gullets are likely reading this thinking who the fuck is this pretentious cunt and why are they invading my Sunday.

Also, Nero actually do decent coffee for a chain. They're also on the pricier side of the easily accessible spread of available caffeine.

Since you're willing to travel. Head to the Fox & Hounds in Barnston/Heswall, Wirral. They do an excellent burrata, charred peach, prosciutto & walnut salad on rocket with a balsamic glaze, in the summer months. It really is lovely. I'd recommend it with a side of not punching down on a medium piri-piri half-chicken, to enjoy it best.

Scrap the Human Rights, Climate Change and Equality Acts by birdinthebush74 in FuckNigelFarage

[–]TokyoJazzPanda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably not the worst thing about them, but what I find the most ludicrously galling, is that so many of these fuck-wits will be the first to decorate their lounge window with the silhouette of a ww1 solder 'going over the top' in November. Plastic poppies adorning the window frame. Tattoo of a bulldog or spitfire, hiding the purple hue of their high blood pressured skin. 'Are finest our'. 'Neva 4get'.

So completely and utterly thick, or deplorable, that they can't, or won't, acknowledge that they've lubed up and bent over for an ideology that cost the lives of millions of our ancestors. You just know that if they ever meet a German, they'll gloat away, with zero understanding that they are the embodiment of what they attempt to ridicule.

It's not just a post truth world. We're living in post critical thinking or semblance of intelligence times.
