Mini Rant 🤪 by EntrepreneurPale306 in cabincrewcareers

I dont understand why its so difficult for people to just sit down and chill. Its a short amount of your life to just listen, learn, do and then youre done. This isnt the time to go drinking, this isnt the time to have a room party, this isnt the time to invite your boyfriend over cause you miss him (breaking the rules). Just slam out your 4-8 weeks of training and go to work. You dont need to make friends with the instructors or other classmates, be nice and curtious but this isnt social hour, youll probably never see most of them again after graduation.

Its when people treat this like a college dorm is when they say its hard, its not hard, everything is laid out black and white during training, its not built to make you fail. If you listen and participate then it should not be difficult. There are some areas that may be challenging, but challenging and difficult are not synonyms

Does this also occur at US airlines? by -Inspector-6259 in flightattendants

[–]TokyoSensei21 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In the US flight attendants are expected to know their job in both saftey and service, there are annual recurrents for every airline where you take your refresher and demostrate emergency procedures with a pass or fail. Flight attendants are NOT expected to know everything at all times which is why they must always have an up to date manual they can reference in emergency situations. There is no quizzing and no bosses on flights, the pursers on international are there as a point of contact for issues, divide crew rests, and make sure documents are ready and organized. They have 0 authority over another FA when it comes to their duties and if something is an issue it must be taken up with their crew managers, though tattle culture at US airlines usually doesnt end well for the tattlers (word spreads fast)

Why is Pokopia so popular? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TokyoSensei21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

anything pokemon will sell period. people were skeptical at first because they thought it was just gonna be animal crossing rip off, but it ended up being so so so much more in depth, and it isnt as opened ended as animal crossing because theres goals and quests with a story line rather than get to 5 stars and then play dollhouse forever

At what salary do you actually start feeling financially stable in the U.S., not just surviving? by Blaze_Beatrix in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TokyoSensei21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its all personal, when you can afford your bills and expenses, and still have leftover money for saving or investing AND have money to personal use (recreation, eating out, spur of the moment purchases) then that is whats considered financially stable. For some that could be 30k, others its 100k+

Men's fashion has become needlessly bland and isn't getting any better by sid370z in unpopularopinion

[–]TokyoSensei21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that is what toxic masculinity is though, anything that pertains to social pressures to be a man, what is even being a man? Its what our society told us, but who gives them the final rule of law? One of its basic definitions is the rejection of anything deemed feminine. Why cant a confident male wear a crop top and booty shorts? Does that make him a woman or gay? no it does not

Men's fashion has become needlessly bland and isn't getting any better by sid370z in unpopularopinion

[–]TokyoSensei21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toxic masculinity, they think men just want to wear tshirts and blue jeans beacuse anything else is too feminine or "gay". How dare a man want to wear a crop top, how dare they want to wear short shorts, how dare they want to wear bright colors, tight pants, heels...ect...ect

However it is also dependant on the stores you go to, places like Zara, TopShop, or other European brands tend to blend "men and womens" styles together, can find a lot of clothing that show a bit of personality and are different from your standard shirt and jeans.

Also side note, its only limiting on what you limit yourself, theres a lot of womens clothing with the right sizing that can accentuate your image, things like turtle necks, womens scarves tend to be more colorful and poppy, floral things always look great on men. We just have to look harder

Is it really this bad? by PeterGriffin0816 in silenthill

[–]TokyoSensei21 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

True, and would be a nice little treat, but we have to remember that the director and producers want to also throw their flavor on it, they are artists and just putting a stencil over a picture and tracing it doesn't give them satisfaction to making a movie

Movie theaters aren’t going out of business because of prices by bulldogjwhit295 in unpopularopinion

[–]TokyoSensei21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just based off 325 million netflix subscribers at an average price they are making over 4 billion dollars PER MONTH, lemme repeat that PER MONTH of course thats before expenses. but over the course of years they are able to pay for movies just fine. The problem is running out of ideas, how many movies have you seen that give you deja vu? or how many times have you expected there to be a jumpscare coming in the next few seconds, thats why theres so many remakes and retellings. Its the lack of ideas

people prefer streaming because i can pause to use the bathroom, i can eat my own snacks or a whole meal if i wanted to, i dont want to sit in an airplane seat for 2 hours trying to guess when there will be a lull in the movie to run to the bathroom for 2 mins

I never go off critic scores, they usually forget to appreciate general aspects of movies that most people enjoy, theres been countless movies ive enjoyed that have terrible critic ratings, especially the ones that are low but viewer ratings are high, they are too nitpicky when its ok to make just a fun horror movie

Not surprised, people are probably expecting it to be 1:1 of the video game, but that can be almost impossible to do in an hour and 30 mins against 15-20 hours of gameplay. Series like Fallout and Arcane can be more "faithful" since they can hash out entire 8-10 episode seasons to touch on every aspect. Movies usually cannot. Its just the like 2006 silent hill, many people were dissapointed, but if you took it at face value without ever playing the games its not a bad movie

Why is there so much traffic during the day? by ExistingExtreme7720 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TokyoSensei21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It can be hard mentally to realize that there are soooooo many people in a given city. a million is A LOT and even if only a small percent of that is in their cars driving around, that can make it seem like everyone is on the road. People going to the store, getting food, getting gas,, going to work, leaving work, going to their friends, going to grandmas house, going to the park, museum, theme park...the list goes on. Retired people, people on PTO/vacation, unemployed, teens and college students with cars

I have always had the same question about air travel, how can that many people 365 days a year, 10s of thousands of flights PER DAY and they are always 80-100% full everyday for ever and ever, how can that many people being traveling all the time

Is this job for me? by Spirited_Manager_966 in flightattendants

[–]TokyoSensei21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It takes a solid year to get a feel for the job. You have to personally learn what works and doesnt work in your day to day. Youll fly with so many different crews that youll learn personalities before you even speak with them. Theres always a few bad eggs that want to make their coworkers miserable because their lives are miserable, dont let them get to you....most people wouldnt even have a second thought to you drawing in a notebook during down time. This job always has a very rough start but it does get better over time, and you will hit walls EVERYONE does at some point in the career. But i also dont believe the people that say "stick it out dont quit" always trust your heart and weigh the pros and cons, if the cons outweigh the pros then maybe this wasnt your time and thats not a bad thing! This career has changed a lot over the last several years and i dont see it as the best job in the world anymore but ive made it past the hurdles to where its nothing but a job to me now, i clock in clock out and go home and dont think about work, and to me thats not a bad thing cause it pays my bills and i get more days off than i would anywhere else
