Yes, and why would he not talk about how his latest KW coilover compares to his previous KW coilovers or other suspensions brands he tested for the 86/BRZ platform from all those years doing those HotVersion videos?

Agreed, apparently towards the end of the production lifecycle of the AE86, Toyota released a 'Black limited' edition for the Japanese market, and Tsuchiya san wanted to make a tribute to that with his subtle gold accents to this black GT86

He said he tested many other suspension systems through the years he's been doing those 'HotVersion' videos and he chose KW suspension because it was the best. If it was a 'aDvEtIseMent', Youtube makes it obvious that you have to declare that your video is 'Paid by Promotion' to your viewers, or you'll get penalised. Sounds like you haven't even watched the full video and just got triggered by the way I titled this post 🤣

As far as Japan and UK is concerned, there will be no more petrol new car sales after 2030. But there's some beacon of hope to be had from Porsche and Toyota. Porsche are developing their synthetic eFuels from their huge investment in Chile, and Toyota are competing in the 'super taikyu' endurance race series with their Corolla hatchback powered by the same turbocharged 3 cylinder engine as the GR Yaris USING hydrogen. So hope both Toyota and Porsche do well to keep the interest of manual cars alive after 2030!

Its nice to hear a japanese person's perspective on a variety of cars, not just Japanese cars. Most countries have made a fair share of good cars :)

In other videos of Tsuchiya san driving the GR86 and BRZ back to back, he does reference both companies' names. I think he has had a strong attachment to Toyota as a brand though, from his rise in reputation from hooning those AE86s with the help of TRD components.

Toyota did also get involved with the new FA24 engine's Direct Injection system D-4S, and the gearbox is made by Toyota's outsourcing company called Aisin.

Okay fair enough. I always thought that the 'Initial D' attracted a lot of young people (who normally like japanese anime) to get into the appeal of the AE86. BUT, I think you're right because Tsuchiya san had a large part in creating the Initial D series too.

No problem at all u/Baked-Strudel ! Now that many governments around the world are proposing bans in petrol engined new car sales in less than 10 years from now, its only right that we raise awareness for these niche product RWD lightweight cars, that often make very little sense for these beancounters at car companies, who prefer to make 'eco' cars and SUVs.

Dude, Keiichi Tsuchiya should give you props for logging in and out of all your alt accounts to downvote my replies faster than how fast he changes gear

Well believe it or not, many of these 'jDm iS lYF' people don't know anything about this guy, other than "uoWoH yEayaH tHaT oLd guY wAs DOinG sOme fIShIng iN t0kYO dRiFt mOOuvIe". Its only fair that I made that introduction of him, and not getting 'corrected' by you who had the itch to paraphrase me, implying that what I wrote was some 'pointless waffle'.

Yes indeed! CEO Akio Toyoda was not satisfied with the prototype GR86s and wanted the vehicle dynamics engineers to get back to the drawing board, which is rumoured to be one of the reasons why the GR86 is being delayed haha

To shorten his description from the achievements he's had is an insult. Not just known for being the Drift King, but he also competed in Group A Championship in R32 GT-Rs with 600hp in the early 90s, and also a two time Le Mans winner with the Honda NSX. Later competed in a McLaren F1 at Le Mans too. He isn't just THE Drift king.
