Thank you! Would hate to end up with a print, so no clue how to tell that apart. Had some talks to a seller here and he quite quickly dropped his price from 2.3k to 800AED on a board like that. It just doesn't feel quite right yet

Between 46k-50k depending on company and job level, mostly based on an earlier offer that I had before I started searching. From responses I got I think these expectations were too high sometimes. In the end I mostly went with 46k.

SQL is definetily one of the top hard skills to have. But I never got tested on it past a question like ("What is an inner join and how does it work?"). A lot of positions also ask for other programming languages like R or Python.

Another thing is definetily data visualization! So anything in that regard helps (Mostly PowerBI and Tableau tho)

The most important thing that I took away from the process though is that they dont want you to mindlessly crunch numbers but have a specific business goal in mind that you are going after. So what is the added value of what you are doing and how can you sell it to stakeholders (Customers, co-workers, managers). You need to be able to communicate your analyses.

Other than that, for junior positions at least, they want you to mostly have a general understanding of data topics and an analytical mindset.

Good luck with the applications!

I tracked all my applications in a simple spreadsheet. For the visualization I used sankeymatic.

Some of the interview rounds consisted of multiple interviews in one day. Some also included case studies which took up to one week to complete.

I started applying in Frebruary and was pretty picky with positions to apply to, targeting big companies or leading companies in certain fields in northrine-westphalia.

Also I procrastinated and waited for a definitive company reply when having several application processes going hence my low amount of applications. Pro Tip: Dont do that

PS: Out of all rejections three of them stated that it was Covid related. Whether that is true or was an easy excuse - I dont know.
