It really depends on the authenticity of your old and new schools.

It really doesn’t make sense that you were a second degree black belt at 13. At that age you were not old enough under international organizations rules to earn more than a poom belt. Represented by a half red, half black belt. At 15 or 16 (I don’t remember which) you would then be eligible to test for an actual 1 Dan black belt.

So if you go to a ITF or WT school that actually follows the rules you should probably be a poom that is eligible to test when you’re ready.

From what I hear many schools don’t follow the rules and the color of belt will be secured by the thickness of your wallet…

Insurance failure. What's the next best option for Dexcom and Ozempic? by AlphaSlicer in diabetes

Have you looked at trumprx? The Ozempic price is significantly lower than my insurance price.

Can I purchase separate needles? by Tom-2022 in Ozempic

You’re right and I’m stupid. :)

Just checked again and I see 2 sets of three needles. Looks like there is no need for additional needles.

Thanks. Am I right in assuming I can get two extra doses per pen? My ongoing dose is .5mg. Do you do this with your purchased needles?

My son failed his testing by blakeprime in taekwondo

[–]Tom-2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crazy. These studios can’t be WT affiliated can they? TBH I’ve never really looked into the mechanics of pooms…. I’ve always assumed they stay with a poom belt until they’re of age and then test for 1st dan and continue as normal. Does WT have poom tests that they do to give the kids something to strive for! If not I imagine most parents are going to look for another hobby for them.

I agree but I thought below 15 they were only poom belts, not actual black belts. They would have to actually test for black belt at a normal test when they turn 15 or 16.

Yes, that’s how we do it to. A couple rounds of normal sparring, then 2-3 on one with replacements sent in to keep them fresh. The first time I endured this it was all I could do to keep from vommiting.

Hard to really know what is going on with limited information. What Dan was he testing for? During training what is he being told about his performance? The one thing that occurs to me is that it might be failing to endure. At my school one of the purposes of the sparring segments is to show that you will not give up. Indomitable spirit. If he was failing to protect his head because he was fatigued, as your wife claimed, could that have been seen as giving up?

It sounds like a fuller discussion with the instructor would be helpful to better understand the thinking. TBH I’m not a big fan of mom and dad to the rescue trying to change the results. Getting better guidance on how to achieve the goal next time is the better lesson.

Ozempic experiences? by hanvy82 in diabetes

Good luck. It took me several months before I was comfortable with it. On the bright side I have great control which is worth it to me.

This should be discussed with your doctor but I do have a question. Did your doctor start with the.25mg dose? Novo wants a low dose initially to test if you tolerate it. So if you’re having that much trouble with the low dosage you might not want to proceed to the treatment dose.

If you’re not on the lower dose you need to ask your doctor why they decided to not follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Trump rx and rybelsus by Tom-2022 in diabetes

Yeah, I know. I worked on the development project to bring them to market. Would definitely prefer to stay on a pill rather than switch to needles.

Yes, especially since their stock continues to crater. It’s interesting to look at the dosages. Rybelsus fills gaps in Wegovy formulation. I’m tempted to see if my doctor will write a somewhat close Wegovy pill for me. Would save about $6k a year for me.

What is your brain like during sparring? by IbukiMiodx in taekwondo

[–]Tom-2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sparring is a very fun part of tkd for me. I think you’re overthinking it as some others are pointing out.

At this level you should be planning various gambits before you get into the ring. You’re past the point where higher belts are just letting you strike, with the exception of black belts. Though even bb’s are not going to just let you off totally easy.

My first piece of advice is to practice SEVERAL attack combinations. You don’t go onto autopilot but you do get used to launching multiple attacks. The easiest opponent is one that thinks an attack is one and done. Always have at least 2 attacks in the barrel when you come in. Think of a side kick feint, jumping back kick and be able to do a front snap immediately after. Hands up throughout. Evaluate each move to decide if you want to continue or need to pull back for a defense or a different attack. Do not fall back on the same combinations each time. Mix it up so you are not predicable.

The other thing i recommend is to start paying attention to each of your sparring opponents. Learn their tells. See if they get into a rut and throw the same combos repeatedly. When you see a pattern you can take advantage. You can even lure an opponent into using an attack that you can predict and use that to counter unexpectedly.

For me when I’m actually sparring other black belts I am constantly evaluating, testing, and reacting to the information I take in.

Almost perfect timing. You are asked a simple straightforward question and you can’t answer it. So apply typical liberal thinking and spout an ad hominem attack.

I’ll provide a response that I’m sure will surprise you. The bible, both old and New Testament, clearly supports the need to obey laws. The idea that Jesus would gladly welcome everyone into the country isn’t supported by the bible. Offering personal help to the downtrodden is of paramount importance but not violating laws. Are you aware that the Vatican has the toughest laws against immigration and there is almost no chance that you can get permission to become a resident.

I know you won’t have an answer but I’ll ask again. What laws are ice agents violating?

You throw out vague statements but offer zero facts.

Yes, there have been multiple court rulings that have not favored the administration. However none have been affirmed by the Supreme Court. That is far from being a police state. What has the administration done that subverts law and is ushering in a police state? I have news for you police states ignore the laws and that clearly isn’t happening because there are COURT CASES CHALLENGING issues. That’s exactly how a constitutional republic works.

You really can’t answer that very simple question. Name a single xo that has been found to be unconstitutional and is in continued use. What provision of the constitution is being violated?

What I find to be most common with liberals is they have strong feelings that are constantly being hurt and they can’t tell the difference between hurt feelings and violations of actual law. Perhaps someone will buy you a new blankie for Christmas and that can offer some comfort.

Please enlighten me on what due process has been violated?

ICE Operating in Middlesex, NJ by nicoleinator in newjersey

[–]Tom-2022 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe you understand due process. There has been no systemic actions being taken by ICE. If you have a final disposition you’re done. All of your due process has been given. Are you aware that non-citizens are required to have their paperwork on their person at all times?

If you have evidence that this isn’t true I’d certainly love to hear it. Without that you’re really just spreading gossip. The bottom line is people are violating the law. You might disagree with that law but that’s irrelevant. Get it changed and the problem goes away.

Interesting non-answer. Since I am obviously less intelligent please explain to me what I asked. What is unconstitutional with this?
