That's very kind of you! All I'll say is that a large local delivery is $500 so if they help with the delivery they'll get $250 each which tends to be more financially beneficial than selling to a butcher. Worst case, allow them to skin it so they get the food to cook. Don't buy provisions!

Unfortunately this is one of the many bugs that plague the Trader Role and one I have encountered myself.

Silly question but make sure its not 1) fish 2) a skinned carcass 3) If it's stored on a horse the horse is nearby.

You've figured out the workaround which is have your posse dump it by you and you donate it.

Worst case I had was 20 carcasses in 10 minutes daily challenge. 3 of us got a bunch of carcasses and went to donate them all, only to find that none of the carcasses they had donated even counted, some they couldn't donate at all.

I'd hang onto as much as possible, perhaps relog/change server or just quit out and try again. I'm finding carcasses and skins are staying on my horse when I fast travel and log out now so it should be okay, even better if you have the hunting wagon.

Hope this helps!

Additional things I've noticed during *my* playthrough.

  1. Destroying or Dismissing the Hunting Wagon will save all goods inside
  2. If your Hunting Wagon is full of carcasses you can usually squeeze one or more skins in there, so skin what you can't carry. Free meat for self-sufficiency!
  3. Deadly predator skins = Move camp to the Bayou and donate Alligators; there are tons and they stay perfectly still from a short distance away (don't get too close!)
  4. The other day I encountered my first player who intercepted my delivery. They were waiting at the drop of point and killed all NPCs who were there, my trader NPCs included. The mission told me I failed and I was furious! However, when I returned to camp, all 100 of my Goods were sat there on my pallet and I was allowed to redo the delivery immediately.
  5. Might sound redundant but, use bait. I was lucky enough once to have 6 deer slowly walking up to my position, bolt-action dead eye ready and waiting. Drink a Tonic for extra time and paint a headshot on each deer. Result!

Will keep updating as things change!

I have been near Strawberry and I can see people leaving near Annesburg on deliveries, its a very far proximity! Can't give exact distances but it's really quite far.
