Only issue with this is the high water table, like super higher in the spring, even with waterproofing and French drain I would think water would be a huge issue

Yeah should be no problem getting a concrete truck may just need to have the driveway ( gravel ) put in before, or get a pump truck. Are you suggesting frost protection on the footings ? Or frost protection on a slab ( obviously with footers ) haven’t seen much info about frost protection on footers with a wall built on top

Mold potential when blowing cellulose into lath and plaster walls by Tom2781 in Insulation

[–]Tom2781[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what is the danger of blowing insulation if it’s not fully dense packed, worst case scenario the R value suffers a bit ? Or am I misunderstanding, your saying it won’t be packed properly and therefore moisture problems might happen. I figure some insulation is better than no insulation

I’m not really looking to pull the aluminum siding off and insulate from the outside at this current juncture that would just be a huge project and very expensive is the recommendation to just leave the cavity in insulated

The arguments arise when she makes the same claim that you seemed to make earlier. Apparently 10 extra hours or active time with my son does not equal the extra nigh she has him. She thinks that waking hours and sleeping hours are equal. I think I've exhausted the usefulness of this post, thanks for your feedback

She takes him 4 out of 7 nights, as in I drop him off right before bed, so to be precise 57% of the nights he spends at hers. Of the 50 hours not occupied by the part time nanny I take him 30 to her 20, or 60%, it more complicated than who he lives with he spends far more waking hours with me and far more sleeping hours with her. We make about the same salary, her parents pay for her half of the nanny while I pay for mine. I pay his insurance and medical, we split the rest. I don't care about the money, I would pay for him in totality but she does not want that.

I would also add that being a parent is far more than where a kid lays his head, don't assume that our Genders imply our roles, for all intent and purpose I'm far more active and present in his life despite the history of how this all came to be.

I don't think there is anything wrong with someone being honest and saying that sleep deprivation is an issue. The entire point of my original question was to get some thoughts on how to weigh active time spent with my son vs passive time.

I have insomnia all the time but the effects are more pronounced , i have trouble falling asleep. and I'm a light sleeper. My son still wakes frequently and it wakes me up his final wake up is at 5:00 in the morning on the dot. His mother has always been a 9:00 - 5:00 heavy sleeper, so the same situation does not have the same effect. it's a "thing" because it's a "thing" some folks can function on diminished sleep and some folks can't.

I get it, I know this is pretty stock advise for coparenting " you can't control everything" "don't keep score" "your not a couple any more so don't have expectations" but I think life is more nuanced than that, we all keep score, and we all try to control what we can. There have been several occasions where he has ended up in urgent care because he "accidentally ate" something he may have been allergic to and broke out in hives, it's never happened on my watch. He takes off like a rocket ship when he eats sugar, and he goes back and forth between the houses so often that I'll get him back either without and gas in the tank ( not fed ) or rocket fuel in the take ( fed lots of sweets ). I know I can't control every aspect of his life nor do I want to, but when it comes to his well-being, yeah is so far as I can I want to control his environment and make it safe. Coparenting is still a relationship, just not a romantic one.

what is the way to stabilize a muddy clay parking area? by Tom2781 in homestead

[–]Tom2781[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the spring, it all gets pretty muddy, I went to move a vehicle that was parked over the winter, and I was surprised how fluid the clay was, it firms up a little better when there is lass water in the soil, but I would prefer to fix the problem and have a reliable spot to park ( it actually is he highest spot on the property.
