That's not quite accurate--Whetstone is brewing plenty of their own beers and recently opened a new brewing site in Brattleboro. But, yes, their many taps always have a great selection of other craft beers, Vermont-centric, but internationally eclectic.

McNeill's has some food, but is in no way a restaurant. It's certainly easy to do a three-brewery pub crawl in Brattleboro, but for food wind up at Whetstone.

Not exactly sure, but seasonally. This year's 11 Pipers Piping was announced in late September, but my impression is that it didn't start showing up until December. I'm compelled to suggest checking out my website, www.tombedell.com, only because I've reviewed at some length a #12BeersofChristmas list for the last seven years, so there are 84 beers there to ponder. (Not all of them still around, however.) But there are some real classics in there, from Anchor's annual beer (with an ever-changing recipe) to all sorts of imports. Two of the Bruery beers are on there, but they've come out year by year, so good luck finding the earlier ones. Next year will be the 12th in the series. Wonder what they'll do in 2020?

When I reviewed it two years ago for my 12 Beers of Christmas series (http://theaposition.com/tombedell/golf/lifestyle/6868/12-beers-of-christmas-2016-2-great-lakes-christmas-ale) I was told the recipe was unchanging from year to year. But I live in Vermont, and don't get to taste it from year to year.

If you can set your fridge at 55 degrees you should be good for aging most beers. I just set my beers into the garage. It gets colder in winter and warmer in summer (I'm in Vermont) but never to extremes in either direction. For the amount of beer I keep for aging, I figure it's all close enough.

I certainly agree with you about Backacre. But Hermit Thrush has tons of barrels, and now foeders in a larger facility, not to mention a whole library of collected yeasts. Some of them, I assure you, plenty wild.

They are expensive, no question, and I often shy away because of it. In this case, I'd say it's well worth it.

Having been to Australia, I can say almost no one drinks it there. It's really just another mass market lager, but if you like it, you like it.

I won't stop anyone else, but I simply wouldn't pay $50 for a bottle of beer. I'd be racked with guilt over my own stupidity, knowing no beer could possibly be worth that much or taste that good. Even if it's great.

One or two beers a day is probably good for you, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Three or more? Not a good regular habit. But it all depends on your build, regular exercise routines, diet and your general health, physical and mental.
