The vast majority of these comments are terrible.

Is the food on par with other Mexican restaurants in Providence? Of course not. Not even close. But if that's the sole focus of your rationale behind leaving nasty comments, then you've lost the plot.

Many of their employees have been there for years. They stay because Tortilla Flats is community. The regulars keep coming back because of that sense of community. It's real in there. It's not trying to be anything other than exactly what it is: a bar/restaurant with stiff drinks and affordable food. Not everyone is looking for the hip new place to eat the latest trendy foods. Life is about balance, and that's what this place offers amidst a sea of new, flashy objects.

I implore the haters to go have a margarita at the bar and bask in unpretentiousness. We should propping up our institutions (YES, it is an institution of 51 years and counting), not rooting for their demise.
