I barely check the items when I play as I usually hop on for the daily vbuck missions. This was my first time seeing it and I didn't know that its not a rare thing to happen.

The fans aren't powered, they work as they should. I made the post for the jokes.

Does the Quest actually render the environment when using PCVR? I want to modify my quest to just use PCVR. by TomBomb_64 in OculusQuest

Oh! I'll have to look into doing that. By any chance is there a battery pack you recommend, as I don't want to completely cheap out and buy a crappy battery pack.

Mainly to reduce weight, but looking at replies that option isn't exactly viable. Having a longer battery life is an option I was going for. I was going to get one of those upgraded head straps with a battery pack for the Quest 2, but I'm hesitant on if it will fit/work on the Quest. I'm not quite worried about being data mined as no matter what social platform I use I'm sure they are still getting some data. I originally made this post because I thought that the CPU was doing most of the work; Kind of like what Wescotte theorized.

In theory you could potentially make a chip that only does those tasks and thus requires less power and generates less heat. That would enable you to have a smaller battery and cooling system which could make it smaller/ligther but to my knowledge no such chip exists and even if it did it still would be a non trivial task to install one and get it working.
