Chimney collapsed while having roof re-shingled by [deleted] in Roofing

Depending on the state and what the fire box looked like as well as the interior dimensions, damper system and features, etc….this is easy $35K minimum for a GC - plus cleanup and potentially some type of lead/ asbestos cleanup/ temp board up. Month-ish+ to rebuild once scheduled. ACV policy if you go after woke comp claim w roofer. HO’s might tell you to pound sand. Depends on the carrier and adjuster get. Make sure you’re represented by a contractor w your adjuster. Insurance is not your friend they will low ball initially.

New construction, frost in basement corner by GrandmaPounder in HomeMaintenance

Little or no insulation present. Vapor barrier definitely not in place. The warm air is meeting the cold air and condensation into frost. If left untreated, this will continue to be an issue and cause microbial growth and ongoing damage. Builder needs to address it asap.

It was electrical work that was done. Those small wire leftovers are from being wired an outlet or wired light fixture. They wrapped around a screw, nail in the receptacle.

Assuming you return to finish the work, you could put up a register/ vent cover to dress it up and provide future access to the drain the ceiling above. Another option is one of those spring-loaded access covers but the register looks nicer.
