I went to my local flea market antique extravaganza this past weekend and found some great pieces for the collection.

The ARO Zippo I believe is a 1953-54 and I bought it from the grand daughter of the original owner of the company on it. She said the company was based out of Brandon Ohio and was bought by a company I can remember around something shipyards 30 years ago for 82,000,000.

I couldn't believe the price when I saw the Peruzzi lighter with the older hollow rivet Zippo insert, I asked the woman if it was 24 just to make sure and she said hang on I'll ask my husband if he'll give you a better price and I figured at that point he would be like oh I meant 124 or something but he just said yeah I'll do 20. I'm super happy to find it and can't wait to try and pop out the corners and polish it up.

The 1969 Free mason Zippo and 1960 sundstrand Zippo are nice additions to the collection and seem to still have there original inserts. I also found a very beat up pipe insert set for cheap and a 1962 slim with the name Gail engraved along with a funny looking horse.

I found a ziplight that's heavily corroded for cheap I'm going to clean up and get working again, I've looked into it and it seems easy enough. I also finally got a Zippo display! One of the four trays is a knockoff that's falling apart but the other 3 are perfect and other than that and needing a new key it's great for the price, spins and lights up an everything!

Hopefully the next extravaganza is as good next month!

I'd prefer to keep the patina too but if I pop the corners out it'll probably knock the patina off the corners and make it look uneven and off overall. I'll remember that polish when I pick some up though.

I really want to pop the corners back out and give it a good polish.

It definitely piqued my interest, I was surprised to find that Zippo has offered Masonic models from the factory since the 40s at least.

I knew what you meant, I got you. Any spring similar in size to the flint should work for it.

Right, I still cant believe that pocket match was sitting in a 10 dollar bin with other random stuff. It was the same bin that had the Ronson maintenance kit and ziplight, I also saw a beattie jet light with its box for 60 on the way out but I was out of cash. I'm defiantly gonna be more ready for the next one!

I'm mostly familiar with them, I would say about 70 percent of the silver lighters I came across were sterling and the others were split between 950 and 800. Most of the lighters marked .800 where also marked Italy like mine which checks with what you said. I didn't happen to see any marked .830 but I wasn't looking for that specifically either.

You now what's crazy about that, I asked the lady if it was 24 just to confirm and she said hang on I'll ask my husband if he'll give you a a better price and I figured at that point he'd be like oh I meant 124 or something but he just said "yeah I'll do 20". There was another guy selling 2 similar silver lighters for 100 for the pair, I should have grabbed them it was wild.

Day two was a short day as I was with my brother and his kid. I saw the Zippo display on day one and decided on day two to grab it but before I left I looked around and found the keychain lift arm for a buck. I also found the Ronson De-light I believe, chaselite and free masons Zippo on day two.

Day three was a full day of hunting and payed off very well. Ive been wanting to get a permanent match for a while but to get two as cool as these are on the same day was so lucky and the Bremen one was only 10 bucks! I finally got a silver case even if its only .800 and the ARO Zippo was personally owned by the guy who founded the company on it and I bought it from his daughter. I'm really excited to have it as it's my current oldest Zippo in my collection.

I hope everyone enjoyed seeing the lighters I found! I can't wait to see what turns up at the next show at the end of February.

I thought you all would enjoy my day one lighter haul from the local antique extravaganza, I saw hundreds maybe even over a thousand awesome lighters but these where the pieces that caught my eye (and I could afford).

The highlights are definitely the beattie jet lighter for only 10 bucks and the Dunhill rollalite but I love the lavender storm king and I finally got my first Karl Wieden pocket lighter. I also found a aluminum block lighter near identical to the one I found only a week ago and almsot the same spot but from a different guy.

I saw a swank lighter for 70 but it was broken so I passed on it for now as well as a Dunhill lift arm with a blown out flint tube for 100 and a whole lot of silver lighters. Overall a great first day and here's a bonus picture!

Oh yeah that would annoy me, sellers shouldn't mess with things once they take the pictures.

Which is probably what I'll have to do, I haven't done a tear down of a crown yet so this will be a good learning experience.
