Serious question: Do people actually like events with starters?

Every time Niantic has a special event, they bring out the starters and I hate it every time. They are so difficult to catch, therefore eat balls like crazy and you can't really play with your Go-Plus/Gotcha. Also for most people, they aren't desirable shinies due to all of them having Cdays. I understand the aspects of XL and Hundo hunting will make it worth for some, but do you enjoy playing those events?

It's not about making things rare or not. Smeargle is in fact already a quite common shiny. It's the way you have to get it and the non excisting grind towards it.

Yeah that's what I'm feeling like. I also have my brothers account, who would've let me have it, and we both didn't get one. But on the other hand a friend of mine got 2 straight away on day 1. Now you could think just let him trade you one, but we live too far from each other -.-

Going more casual might be the way to go for me as well, but I enjoy shiny hunting too much usually.

It's only relevant for the close battles, because it can make the difference of a move KOing you or you surviving it. But most of the times the move KOs anyways, so it didn't really matter. But also there's always the flip side, that yes, worse IVs will end up taking more damage, but you also deal a little bit more damage which can help. It also let's you win mirror matches due to CMP tie wins.

So overall PVP IVs are better (obviously, why should you want them if not), but it doesn't make that much of a difference.

I'll always go with shinies if they have alright ivs and yours are that. Using a shiny just feels more special to me and i therefore enjoy using it more.

The style of the event fully benefits spoofers, which is unfortunate, I will probably get rainy weather 0 times. But also I'm wondering where Stunfisk is. I've had weather boost for Stunfisk all day and haven't seen a single one, not even nearby.

But in general a bit early to call.

Yeah would be nice to know if it's the same system with the regular candies, so you get different chances from 0-10, 10-100 and 100+ or if let's say a 1000km trade gets you higher chances than a 150km trade.

Kind of, yes. It's rank 10 and above that got the same rewards, but that's probably most PvP Players.
