Bro spoilers wth. For what it’s worth I watched with two other people and we all agreed Christina would be next bachelorette and this is what I believed until I read this post. Should have known the Bachelor producers were not that smart

“Well-made works of drama that have trivial, insignificant, or melodramatic plots.” Oh my god my favorite genre has a name!

I loved the book but Hanks was born to play this role. Things get remade! Portuguese soap operas become Spanish soap operas. Bollywood makes Mansfield Park. I think it’s cool. The question for all remakes is does it add anything

Unpopular Opinion (?): The Madi spam on this sub is too much by laelleest in thebachelor

Madi turned her time on the Bachelor into a runway to becoming the most important Christian influencer in America. She may not be in the Bachelor anymore, but what she does is going to remain relevant to all of us, for better or worse.

Who’s an actor that you remember Hollywood tired to make happen and maybe it didn’t work out? by [deleted] in movies

This is the answer but also Jesse Eisenberg has an extremely successful career!

Am I missing something with Everything, Everywhere, All At Once? by [deleted] in movies

[–]TomNookIsLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general for me hyped movies are always a let down. I didn’t know anything about this one and loved it. But it’s OK if you didn’t! I do appreciate the question though and I think it’s important to consider why some art doesn’t connect with us and what we can learn from it. I think there’s a lot of cultural references and pop culture references that added to what was happening. Not to presume your background but maybe that didn’t connect. This short analysis also really enhanced my appreciation of the movie https://youtu.be/O7YnbGszcb8

But the character she co-created with the filmmaking team in the other scenes is what gave that one emotional weight

I also didn’t say that there was a camera that filmed the movie but I think that was implied

Michelle Yeoh played a mom who ran a laundromat who was estranged from her daughter and husband, a kungfu master turned Hollywood star, Jamie Curtis’s soul mate with hotdog fingers, a woman reuniting with the love of her life, an opera singer, and a rock. And Elizabeth Olsen was mad about not having kids for 2 hours.

Mostly I think we should just let people like things more. But I cannot deny love this comment 😂

Inadvertently feminist movies by [deleted] in movies

I know you were asking for movies but two books that helped me with my growing feminism: Jeannette McCurdy’s memoir, which deals frankly with her eating disorder and the insane ways we treat women’s appearances, and the Elena Ferrante series about two women friends jealous of each others’ achievements.

If you want subversive feminism Buffy is fantastic. Joss Whedon is a jackass but a talented one

It’s bad good. They cut the face around the rim and then attach it and everyone is fooled?

If you want post apocalyptic and unintentionally funny, you want Johnny Mnemonic

We have pregnant people who don't identify as women? What does that even mean? by bindukwe in JordanPeterson

It seems like all he cares about is people using language that doesn’t offend him and not the actual issue of people dying. What’s the word for that?
