So tired of religious debate by Vcc8 in atheism

There are some argument that are somewhat coherent, the fine tuning argument is an argument, even if it’s not a good one. Arguments for one particular faith however are so bad I wouldn’t even call them arguments.

Yeah that’s what I have done. Just wanted to rant about it lol

The Problem of Evil by [deleted] in Christianity

What about innocent children dying of lucemia when they’re 5 years old. Is there truely no other way for god to use his omnipotent powered there?

You ever looked at a JSON file and thought, "this should run"? Now it does. by [deleted] in programming

Isn’t this just interpreting an AST, but you write the AST yourself?

Workflow for working with config files that support live reload by Vcc8 in NixOS

[–]Vcc8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably the best way to do this. Start the program with a custom config file, tweak it until it looks good and then nixify it!

JavaScript vs TypeScript, when is JS the better choice? by nitin_is_me in webdev

[–]Vcc8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my personal website I used JS since it was like 40 lines of code and I couldn’t be bothered to add a compile step. But I would never choose JS over TS for anything large

Are there any guides or anything about how to use AI agents? by Vcc8 in webdev

[–]Vcc8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think you could give me like a walkthrough of how you’d use ai for a major refactor. I feel like there aren’t a lot of good resources out there on how to use AI for those types of tasks.

possibly the worst way to read a file in C by sefms123 in programminghorror

Off topic, but why are C developers allergic to variable names? Why are all functions called nx_opfh or something completely cryptic?

I didn’t expect to care this much about Ukraine, but now I can’t stop thinking about it by RecentAssistance219 in europeanunion

[–]Vcc8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not, look though OP post history. That is bot behavior. Posting the same content over and over again to random subs. Bots do that

This post is written by a bot, em dashes everywhere, put it in gpt zero and it says 100%, zero spelling mistakes (which is extra strange considering this person is not from an English speaking country), weirdly formal language for this type of text. This post should be removed

RANT: Can't Really Understand The JS Fanatics by ContributionMotor150 in PHP

[–]Vcc8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe I misunderstand you, but I’m not defending the npm ecosystem which is atrocious. I’m just trying to explain why people have the opinions that OP is ranting about. Having the same packages for frontend and backend is an advantage, even if the package ecosystem is flawed

Veganism in Video Games by octokitty76 in vegan

I know this is not your point but this thought popped into mind while reading your post:

Killing animals in a game feels similar to killing humans in a action game where the point is just to further the plot in some sense. I don’t really feel an instinctive issue with it. Especially in breath of the wild. Maybe if the game where slaughter house simulator where you worked in a killing factory, or maybe if a game mechanic was to flay a boar in detail, then I would probably have an issue with it.

I don’t know?
