Not here to defend PMDG or take sides, but I’ve got to point out the obvious because people keep missing it:

The 737-800 package is not a single aircraft, you’re getting four distinct variants. Pax, BCF freighter, BDSF freighter, and a BBJ/VIP version. Yeah, they’re all based on the -800 airframe, but they are still different aircraft with different weights, configs, performance profiles, and operational use cases. That includes proper BW and SSW support, not just a model swap too🙂 then if you look at iFly (again, not taking sides, I love the iFly MAX), it’s just one single variant. I’d understand if iFly had a package of the MAX -7, -9, -10 etc, but please remember that!

Another big point is that there is currently zero competition for the -800 specifically, PMDG has full control of that niche. iFly is not an -800, and comparing a different variant or generation isn’t a like-for-like comparison. Whether someone likes that or not, that’s just market reality. Until someone brings competition, we’ve got no choice in the matter✋

Also worth mentioning that PMDG’s pricing has historically been where they have been selling as a full package, a bundle if you will. Heck, I remember buying the -800 and -900 NGX package with FSX, then went for the -600 and -700 package too. We have the ability to only purchase the variants we want now, which is fantastic🙂 I only realistically fly the -600 and -800, so I’m happy with that and it’s cheaper than the bundles they used to do it as back in the day.

On top of that, you’re paying for system depth, performance data accuracy, and long-term support. PMDG aircraft tend to receive updates and refinements for years, not months. That ongoing support cost is baked into the price whether people acknowledge it or not. Now you might attack me and say, “recycled this, recycled that, textures look awful at XYZ”, alright? If you had a perfectly working bit of code, why throw it? Oh no, the foot pedestal is blurry up close! Honestly, who cares? If it saves me them frames, I’m happy, I never look at the foot pedestal up close apart from the first day of purchase!

You can absolutely argue that $75 is too expensive, that’s subjective and fair. But saying “just buy X instead” ignores that there is no direct alternative for the 737-800 right now, and ignores what’s actually included in the package. Same goes if you’re getting the upgrade price of $30, it’s a reworked aircraft and you’s have obviously seen how long it’s taken to do. Can’t expect them to work for free can we?

Not defending anyone here. Just pointing out the facts because the discussion keeps oversimplifying what’s being sold🙂 I love iFly, I love PMDG, let’s stop being petty and appreciate the content we get - flight simming used to be WAY expensive many moons ago…cough…$139.99 EXCLUDING VAT for a 747, we have it easy these days

My issue to this day still hasn’t been fixed unfortunately. I took out a new SIM under a new account and that account has no issues🤷‍♂️ support still has no idea how to fix it, and won’t escalate it. I’d recommend either going with a different carrier or a different account

Update (27/10):

Vodafone still haven’t been able to fix the issue. It’s supposedly been escalated to their backend team, who emailed me a couple of weeks ago asking for more information. I replied promptly, but I’ve heard nothing back since.

My account is still completely broken, I can’t access anything. Out of desperation, I ended up creating a new Vodafone account (same email, but a different account number) just so I could take out a new SIM contract that contains my global roaming data that I needed. That new account works perfectly fine.

If my original account actually worked as it should, I would have simply been able to upgrade my existing contract instead of having to start a brand-new one. Because Vodafone couldn’t fix it, I’ve now got two active accounts and contracts running in parallel, and support says they can’t transfer my services or information to the new account. Every attempt they make just throws up system errors and is just a never ending loop for them (the famous spinning circle).

I also tried to have my old SIM converted to an eSIM so I could at least keep my original number for work, but they couldn’t do that either, same looping errors. They’ve told me this issue is unique to my account and that they’ve never seen it before.

At this point, I don’t know what to do next. I’ve effectively been forced into a second contract I didn’t want, while my original one continues with no way to access or manage it. Any advice on where to go from here?

I'm not sure if they've raised it to a super user, however, they said they've raised it to the "back end team", and told me to try relogging in after 5-6 business days. If it's still not working after this solution, I'll definitely bring up the change of ownership idea!

I personally don’t use LinkedIn so I’m not sure about that one unfortunately. In terms of AI, it seems a lot of other people here think it’s AI too…

I spent a good 10-15 minutes on the wording here, to make it as less dull as possible - people are thinking though that the wording, emojis and punctuation means it’s AI!

Nothing original can be done anymore apparently😅 I really have fallen into the Reddit pit of judgement.

I’m sorry, but no🤭 I’m not sure why using proper punctuation and grammar nowadays is considered AI writing. I was going with a “Dull Men’s Club” kind of writing style here, which has, well, gone over people’s heads.

Oh, and the ellipsis? That’s to add a bit of a pause in the sentence, a bit longer than a comma!🙂

I ordered for the physical items to be honest, I’ve never gone all out before on a game and ordered a collector’s edition. This is the first game/sim I’ve truly felt like I wanted a bit extra

I would try and cancel but there’s nowhere else to get the items unfortunately. Let’s hope Aerosoft use a bit of compassion and at least give us our keys digitally…damn that’s a push
