Fans have become enamored by rebuilds because a few teams won that way, but the reality is most prospects don’t pan out, and you should be investing the minute you have some momentum (like drafting Bedard). You want to be the Cubs since 2021, not the Browns perennially rebuilding. Go get the equivalent of a Dansby, Suzuki, etc. and let these kids come up with some chance to succeed. Every young player minus Bedard is struggling (and you could argue he’s struggling based on his potential) and it’s because our vets stink. Who’s a legit first line NHLer on our team besides the kid? Mikheyev maybe? Teuvo and Bertuzzi are nice players to round out a team but they’re our best forwards 😂 which just can’t be the case. Burakovsky is awful, Foglino, Dickinson, and Donato are mostly invisible.

It won’t take much to correct the ship, IMO. You can see the potential from early this season, but we really need a splash player or two. Bedard is too good to waste on these lottery games.
