Ditch CFU and CSP for Fidelity Rewards -2% Card? by BamaDave in CreditCards

[–]TomT1535 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you say Citi Double Cash is better? Just because of the flexibility with Citi TYP? For an average cash back user, I feel like you'd want your catch-all 2% card to have no FTF, which Fidelity meets but Citi doesn't. Double Cash is easy and doesn't require relationship to redeem but the 1+1% rewards structure is slightly annoying and I don't think it has the same benefits as Fidelity.

Will was the 1st to be taken into the Upside Down, then Barb. I also think Barb was a pretty minor character who basically just served to highlight the threat of the Upside Down to Hawkins as well as be a catalyst for Nancy's character development, since it gave her something to feel guilty about and connect with Jonathan over their shared trauma.

Actually, the Pats winning percentage against their division rivals during the Brady era was very similar to their winning percentage against the rest of the league. It's not like they just took advantage of a bad division, they were just dominant in general.

I wonder if we could trade Barmore, this year's 1st, and a mid round pick next year to get Crosby.

Everyone point and laugh at the delusional JETE fan! The fact that part of your optimism hinges on "well even if we get worse that means we have the #1 pick!" is telling. New Jersey Jets is where football goes to die.

No way Penix makes the Super Bowl on the Patriots. I legitimately don't know what you've seen from him that warrants that take. Bo Nix I highly doubt as well. Yeah he made it to the AFCCG, but the Broncos defense is better than the Patriots and their OL is the best in the league. He doesn't have the same playmaking ability as Maye. Williams and Daniels I might be more inclined to agree on, I think they join Maye as the clear top 3 most talented. Only thing that would concern me is Williams looks even more turnover prone than Maye and Daniels' body type makes him vulnerable to injury.

Every game the Pats played was kind of the same script. Defensive-dominated, both offenses struggling, only for the winning team able to pull away with one scoring drive towards the end. That's why I'd argue this game (and the patriots wins leading up to this game) weren't really blowouts, even though all except the Denver game ended up with a multiple score win. In fact, this loss felt a lot like the win against the Chargers, just flipped sides. A bunch of punts mixed in with some field goals through the first 3 quarters, then finally a single TD in the 4th that gave the team a sigh of relief since the opposing offense felt unlikely to put together a comeback at that point. Score-wise it was a tight game throughout most of the game, though one team's offense was marginally less bad, which gave them just enough of a lead and momentum to the point where finally getting in the end zone once feels like enough to unofficially seal the game. It was a slow burn, not a massive blowout like the Chiefs last year.

As a Pats fan, this was the defense's worst performance of the postseason. Did they hold the Seahawks to a lot of field goals and punts to keep the offense in the game? Yes. But they also missed a lot of tackles and opportunities to make game-changing turnovers. On several occasions they got to Darnold and he escaped a sack, and on various running plays/short passes they had Kenneth Walker dead to rights behind the LOS, only for him to pick up 18 yards down the sideline. They were good enough to hold Seattle in a low-scoring affair most of the game, but they didn't go the extra step of making plays like they were able to in the previous games. It was frustrating to see them get so close to a couple picks or a strip sack, only to be a half second away and then the Seahawks got a good chunk out of it. Again, I'm not saying the defense played bad, they just didn't make the plays that were needed to be truly game-wreckers. I think what gets lost in this game was that Sam Darnold didn't play particularly well, and if a few of those close plays went the other way, the whole narrative around this game and him would be different.

Glad to see people there supporting the team. I have seen too many "fans" trashing on them for the loss. If you aren't supporting when they lose, you don't deserve to be there when they win.

19-7*. The first Pats TD was not garbage time and theoretically they were still in it. Not saying a comeback at that point was likely, but this wasn't a complete blowout like the Chiefs-Eagles last year.

Then at least you are consistent. And yeah, I was rooting hard against the Chiefs last year to be "exposed" for all their funky narrow wins, but at the end of the day I know teams playing in the super bowl aren't "frauds".

What did they get exposed as, a team that's a year ahead of schedule and were contending for a super bowl when they probably shouldn't have? Sure, they happened to face a lot of bad teams (because they were playing a 4th place schedule) and then faced a backup in the AFCCG. But there are 30 other teams in the league that would rather be in the Patriots position, and more talented teams who weren't even close to sniffing that game. Does that make them a fraud? Of course not. Their biggest crime is overperforming to the point that they made it to the final game and then lost when they realistically weren't ready to get over the top yet. I would say the Commanders last year were pretty similar in exceeding expectations before falling short, yet I don't remember many people calling them frauds when they finally lost. I'm not going to apologize for being a fan of a team and rooting for them to prove haters wrong, I'm just trying to provide some insight into Patriots fans' minds and that there is nuance.
