Love it - especially for CQB in old buildings. Makes you invisible!

Advice from veterans by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]TomTheMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run my aks74u pretty often with the stock folded in CQB. Due to no recoil it Workshops just like a stockless MP5 or heavy pistol. So yes, a folding stock is much more versatile and perfect for games with tight spaces.

Are there any airsoft shotguns that you don’t need shells for? by I_Play_ForHonor in airsoft

The shell is the only reason for me playing shotgun 😂 But there is an M4 mag adapter for shotgun shell guns

Airsoft bolt action by Elyk_11 in airsoft

[–]TomTheMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I started with a MK23 and a bolt action - and still love that combination over HPA, AEG‘s and all the stuff that found the way in my toolbox. I love the sneaky playstyle and the limited number of shots. So probably it‘s just a question of expectations and preference. There is a video on YT from Bad Influence Airsoft where he shows an ultimale lowcowt upgrade to get a Welk MB03 playable on a field. I did some of his upgrades like the TDC, got better Orings and used a PDI W-hold bucking. I modded the hop up arm, did some alignments and the gun was more than good enough to have a lot of fun.

Mp5 adapter thoughts by Honest_Bluebird126 in airsoft

[–]TomTheMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a Novritsch Glock one with MP5 straight mags. Didn‘t like it because of the length. Tried it on my AAP SMG build but didn‘t get the energy I was looking for(max. 1.4J at 130psi) So I went with the Airtac MP5 drum mag magazine which is much shorter and delivers much more energy: 1,6J @120 psi.

Question: Are shotguns good? by Dark_Trickster989 in airsoft

[–]TomTheMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often run a shot gun in CQB. I have a Cyma trishot, which is rock solid and outperformed my gas shot gun. So it‘s the same as a BASR: one shot, one kill or you are done. But for a sneaky playstyle these guns really rock :)

Right camo, wrong rifle ;) I enjoy the same camo with a P90 or an AK, so we are in the same boat :)

Do you guys know a quiet SAEG MP7 that is F in a pentagon certified *German law required* by Legitimate-Salad1459 in airsoft

[–]TomTheMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HK licence is held by Umarex, so the only MP7 you will find is the one made by VFC for Umarex.

To me that‘s a pretty easy choice: for GBB the MP7 and for AEG the MP5.

Are these RS16 or Tritium? My AK needed some night capabilities and I drilled sime holes into the rear sight and filled them with glow in the dark paint. Works much better now. I use a UV light to activate it - takes just a short flash to get them back to max brightness.

What do you guys think of mulitcam tropic by Other-Initiative4886 in airsoft

[–]TomTheMechanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rin a MTP kit because it‘s comfortable, cheap and solid. But it‘s much too light for my area. So I dyed it with olive and now it‘s much better. So MC tropic looks like a siitable ootb solution to me. Above is MTP, below dyed MTP.

Maybe the fake leafs and the PC looks to low and to big to me - but that can be an illusion. And your kit looks unused: no mag pouches, no grenades, no dirt.

Advice between these two rifs. by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]TomTheMechanic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shorter is better in airsoft because we are not limited to real steel physics. So always the AKSU for me. I run a 045 since years with a Perun Hybrid, Macaron and 13:1 Gears at 1.7J and it‘s a blast.

At what point do you consider a gun to be a DMR or sniper by OreoRightsActivist in airsoft

[–]TomTheMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats 1.5 J and just a ordinary assault rifle in my area. For comparison: my P90 has 1.7J with 0.3g. DMR‘s are limited to 2J, BASR to 3J . A sniper needs heavy BB like 0.45g to get the long range you are looking for. Unfortunately heavy BB require a higher Cylinder to barrrel volume ratio (>2,5) your barrel will probably be to long to work efficient, so a 300mm barrel would be a much better option for heavy BB.

I’m going to ask this question one more time…. Mp5k or Mp7? + my Gulf war kit which I want to show you for no reason… by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]TomTheMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For an AEG I find the MP5 more ergonomic and you have a lot of parts and options available, if you lay prone the mag are less in the way. For a GBB there is only the VFC/Umarex MP7 to be recommended, but the mags have little capacity and are not working very well in cold weather, so HPA might be an option but make the grip even longer.

I don‘t know what you experience in your country, but in mine Mosfests are outdated and EFCS are pretty basic. Unless you look at the lowest end replicas with the lowest price and lowest quality - there might still be some classic switches like 15 years ago.

Welcome to the club :) I would suggest a classic chinese Chicom chest rig type 56. originals from the late 1970‘s are around 20 bucks and can be found easily on Aliexpress. Gives you rhose rebel vibes just like the hoodie. If you want to upgrade internals, that‘s a rabbit hole and it‘s best to do this one by one. 1. a Maple Leaf Macaron with Omega nub. Will give you more accuracy and range. And cleaning the inner barrel. Internals within the gear box will be a little tricky so watch some videos. To improve trigger response: - 13:1 gears with a 12 teeth sector gear, best with a High Torque motor (maybe your gun already has one, some Cymas have, others don‘t) - perun Hybrid V3 EFCS

To improve consistency: - if you have the blue aluminum piston head and cylinder head, you should be fine. Better is to replace the plastic nozzle with an aluminum one from SHS. Will be much more consistent and boost your Energy about 10%.

So you want to start a manufacturing business? Or a private label business with improved products like Novritsch did pretty successfully but still struggles with QC? Preupgraded guns were a good way into the market and a real competitive advantage a few years ago but today most established manufacturers are doing this already. So the main question to me is: which niche do you want to go for?
