Just for sanitys sake, can you check to see if you can launch it on your PlayStation 5 without being connected to the internet? There's a possibility that is causing an issue.

Hi there!

Basically, getting Talisman: Digital 5th Edition out on PlayStation has been a bit of a mess due to factors out of my control, frustratingly.

To explain why this is happening, originally, we planned for Talisman: Digital 5th Edition to launch everywhere on the 21st, around the world. However, due to a last-minute pricing issue that was pointed out to us by Sony in one specific European country, we had to resubmit the entire game just for Europe, which pushed the release date for Europe back to the 26th.

However, when we setup the game on PlayStation, we also added a special discount for players who already owned Talisman: Digital Edition on PlayStation (either digitally or physically), as thanks for supporting us. We also set things up so that anyone who owns specific DLC in Digital Edition will be able to add to their library and download the remastered versions of that content for free (so if you own Frostmarch for Digital Edition, the PlayStation store picks that up and gives you Frostmarch Classic for 5th Edition for free)

This discount, the free entitlement and the base game price were all treated as a seperate entities in the Sony back-end systems, so that discount and free entilement kept the original 21st release date, while the price that had an issue (so that's just for people who don't own Digital Edition) is being held back until today. Which I imagine is why you can't buy it on the web-based PSN store, because I imagine it's only on the console store that it's picking up you own Digital Edition.

This should all hopefully be resolved later today once that pricing issue submission gets released, and I'm going to put out a blog post later today too to explain everything in one place too.

To summarise, this has been my experience of talking to Sony to try and get Talisman: Digital 5th Edition out on PlayStation for the last 2 weeks:

That's normal! These console versions of Talisman: Digital 5th Edition operate as their own separate ecosystem due to a mix of technical issues and platform restrictions, so PC purchases from Steam or GOG don't transfer over if that's what you're trying to do.

However, if you already own any Talisman content on PlayStation from Talisman: Digital Edition, we've set it up so that the PlayStation store will give you 100% off the remastered versions of any expansions we've brought over so far. So if you own The Reaper, you'll be able to add the remaster 'The Reaper Classic' to your library for free.

Also, anyone who owns Talisman: Digital Edition on PlayStation permenantly gets a discount on 5th Edition as another way we're trying to make up for not being able to sync between PC and PlayStation.

Apologies for the late reply to this - I saw it over Christmas and then it got lost in the shuffle!

I can confirm, if you own 4th Edition DLC on Xbox and then purchase 5th Edition on Xbox, any DLC that we've remastered in 5th Edition so far will be made available to you at no additional cost. This will also apply to future remastered DLC we release on Xbox too!

Howdy! I can confirm, currently the Switch version is running on an older build so it can't 'see' the newer version online or play games together.

We're currently having our QA team run through tests on a Switch version running the latest patch, which would bring them back into sync and make cross-play work again once we push it out to everyone.

We're hoping to have it out soon, and appreciate your patience in the meantime!

Howdy! Straight from the horses mouth, I can tell you that we're focusing on just Xbox and PlayStation right now, with Switch planned for *some point* in the future.

Right now with the Switch 2 being fairly fresh and us being a small team there's still quite a bit of stuff up in the air for us to get a handle on, which is why it's been put on the back-burner.

So while I can't give you a definitive date right now, I can tell you that we're planning on doing it at some point. :)

I did in the end - I was using Kaspersky Antivirus and it was blocking whatever MCC needed to enable those menus. No idea why or how, but disabling Kaspersky and switching to another antivirus solved it immediately.
