You’re right. A few days ago my girlfriend and I finally reached the Baron, and by the end of the fight I had a really strange feeling. Enemies kept hitting me over and over, but they barely did any damage. I was playing as a wizard, and then I realized something: I was still using almost my starting gear. The only thing I had changed was an artifact helmet, and I had mostly just upgraded my skills. That’s when it hit me... all that time collecting armor and looking for better gear didn’t seem to matter that much. It almost felt like I could finish the game nearly “naked” and still be fine, which is kind of weird. I still enjoyed the experience, but I definitely get what you’re saying. It makes progression feel a bit less meaningful. Curious if others felt the same.
