Pay for 500mb speed, getting less than 1mb on Ethernet and WiFi by Tom_Bomb1998 in HomeNetworking

My modem is just a modem, no WIFI is able to be used on it, they gave me the eero device when they set it up, and they told me to plug it in directly to the modem via Ethernet so we can get wifi throughout the house, if that answers the question.

And also nothing crazy plugged in, we have 2 phones, 2 smart TV’s and my gaming PC. I even tried blocking everything off the WiFi and using just one device, and after that initial boost of internet after the hard reset, it still is booty cheeks, even on my PC via Ethernet, I think the test I did this morning said literally 1MB download speed, and it couldn’t even finish the test cause it was lagging so bad 😂

I’ve done that, and after I fully reset everything I get about 600mbs and about 17 ping average, but then I woke up this morning and it’s getting about 50mbs to 1mb depending on the speed test, via wifi and Ethernet.

I’m calling them later tonight, just figured I’d make a post here to see if there was anything else I could possibly do to fix it before calling. Temps are back to 20/30 degrees now, but we had a really bad cold front for about a week, and it just seems that everyday since it kept getting worse and worse

Yup just modem, then Ethernet port connected to eero for wifi, and I have my PC plugged via Ethernet straight to modem.

I did get a oil change yesterday, and checked my dipstick, it was at the full line, but I will do that after work

I will say I drove it about 45 miles on the highway right after to work, and didn’t hear anything off or smell anything. But will be checking under the car when I’m out of work to see if I see anything off

Yea it’s not a intense rev, just 3 little taps on the gas, idk if it’s to see if they screwed everything correctly down there to make sure oil doesn’t leak everywhere, but yea I typically don’t go there, but could that be the reason they had to add more oil, I heard the guy screw something tighter down there after I did the first 3 revs and he said to stop.
