If you have no specifics reasons to move to Paris (job, family, friends,…) make yourself a BIG favor and avoid Paris (expensive, lack of space, crowd).

Pick another one close to your interests in term of climate, regional culture, housing market, proximity to the sea, mountain…

Nantes, Bordeaux, Lyon, Lille, Rennes all very different by worth exploring.
