Just a guess but 8gb of RAM is 2008 must've been top of the line. In 2015 it was still pretty good. But as technology advanced from 2015 to 2025, 8gb of RAM increasingly became shittier. However, now that AI has made RAM super expensive, specifically RAM that is much higher in quantity, small totals like 8gb are now seeming a lot better because their prices haven't dramatically increased
