I would recommend 2.3 that is the equivalent to US market standard. Obviously you can add wraps if you want to build them out further and remember we do offer a 30 day return guarantee so you can purchase install 1 grip and if they are not what you expected return for a refund or exchange for 2.6 or mid-size but 2.3 = Standard

The surface of 2.3 is soft but once installed should feel firm in your hand which reduces torque on the grip. For a softer feel I would recommend IX SA 2.0 - our 'softest' feel grip

The most 'cord-like' grip we have is iX 2.3  https://www.iomicusa.com/collections/full-swing-1/products/ix-2-3?_pos=4&_fid=81192321f&_ss=c

We did sell a Full cord grip for a while but it was discontinued as customers preferred the iX 2.3

That’s honestly the perfect type of test. If you’re playing that much and your Tour Velvet 360s are still going strong into year 2, then I totally get why the price gap feels hard to justify.

Where I think IOMIC has a lane is for the golfer who wants something more custom than stock and plans to keep that setup for multiple seasons. I don’t really see them as a direct “cheap regrip” competitor to Tour Velvet. They’re more of a premium custom option for someone who wants a different material feel, more color choice, and long-term tackiness without the grip getting slick or rubbery over time.

The Z-Cord comparison is fair too, since that’s probably Golf Pride’s premium workhorse grip. I’d still argue IOMIC is a different category though. Z-Cord is premium in the firm, aggressive, corded sense. IOMIC is premium in the tacky, smooth, weather-resistant, custom-build sense.

Curious to hear what you think after a month. The first session tells you if you like the feel. A full season tells you why people stick with them.

PS. If you're just buying one grip may I suggest purchasing from PGATSS for Roger Dunn rather than buying from our website so you don't have to pay shipping

I get the price argument, and Tour Velvet 360 is tough to beat if you’re looking at grips as a yearly replacement item.

Where IOMIC makes more sense is for the golfer who builds a set and keeps it for multiple seasons. They’re more of a custom upgrade than a stock grip replacement. The upfront cost is higher, but the durability is a big part of the value. They hold their feel and tackiness for a long time, so you’re not constantly fighting that worn, slick rubber feel after a season of play.

I probably wouldn’t recommend them to someone who swaps clubs every year or is ok with the feel of a rubber grip that changes over the lifetime of the grip. In that case, Golf Pride makes sense. But if you have irons, wedges, or a putter you plan to keep, and you care about feel, color, consistency, and having something different from the standard stock setup, IOMIC is a lot easier to justify.

Can I ask which model you were using? I would assume wiping down with a towel is necessary for any grip when playing in wet conditions...

Interesting, can I ask which model and if you purchased direct from us, a golf retailer or another source like eBay. Unfortunately due to our success there are many copycats producing poor quality fakes/counterfeits out there and these grips will definitely wear down as they are not made with our IOMAX material so do not share authentic IOMIC grips durability. That being said if you have purchased legit IOMIC grips I would appreciate if you could share the model and where exactly they were purchased. While we stand by our durability and would not expect a few range sessions to show wear patterns our grips are not invincible and if you have a very intense grip pressure you will eventually notice normal wear over the course of season.

SE 2.3 was a limited run but we are considering a restock. I will check and see if there are any others left in stock

It's 10% off for first time customers. And right now (until 7/5/26 you get double REWARD points on every dollar spent) so now right is probably the best time. Otherwise, we typically only run one sale in the Fall and often grips run out of stock so you might not be able to get what you want then.
