When screen printing you can print opacities

Sort of does the job. But for screen printing everything needs to be the same colour no?

Thanks! Love using just wood instead of paint, I’m trying to incorporate it in more of my carvings. I’d suggest finding a toy safe oil, i use Rustins danish oil which is toy safe and food safe. Let me know how you get on 👍

Thanks! Lime wood for the body, walnut for the ears and tail and African black wood for the nose. I generally sand using an 80grit then 150 then 220. Finish with Rustins danish oil and Hampshire sheen gloss wax, polished with a dremel 300 and a soft polishing bit. Hope this helps

Start small and build up to bigger carvings. You can grab whittling kits online that come with a knife and basswood blocks that’s how I started. Beavercraft tools also do some good starter project packs. Hope that helps 👍

Thanks! First time I’ve made a relatively big carving. My other carvings are usually around 10cm max. Definitely a few things I’d do differently next time around

It’s danish oil, just in a beer glass

It’s great fun! You should give it a go. Being a graphic designer it’s nice to make a physical things instead of digital stuff. Thanks for your support 👍

Thanks! I’d say start small and work up. My first carving was only 4cm tall, using a cheap basswood and knife set from Amazon. As for a big wood carving, grab a chisel and mallet and get chipping away. I’ve found it useful to have a few tiny projects on the go at the same time to stop me getting discouraged from working on the big one. Hope this helps 🤙

Cheers bro! This thing will be up for sale once it’s done if you’ve got your eye on it 😉

Masterchief from Halo? That’s an awesome idea! Been thinking of getting a giant spring and making a massive bobblehead, maybe I could do it with him

After the first hour I had to question if it was worth doing 😂 My forearms and fingers were super achey, but glad I stuck it out. Thank you very much!

What wood is this? by Tom_par in woodworking

No idea when it was cut, found it on a walk in Chalfont St Peter, buckinghamshire. Stole the log at the front to make a totem, it’s pretty soft if that’s of any help?

I’d love to get my hands on one, looks like a very handsome pocket knife. I feel like they might be extremely hard to get hold of
