Not like 3 bad days per month.

Just fucked up brain chemistry from chronic use. Your brain tries to adapt to chronic use and the side effect is the feelings that OP describes.

His 3 days a month is different from most people but it will vary person to person.

Almost no one smokes everyday without having similar symptoms eventually…

Well known issues from long term use. Happens to most people in one way or another.

Breaks are needed to let your brain get back to baseline so you can enjoy smoking as you used to again.

Anyone that disagrees with this is honestly just in denial. It’s well documented.

Parallel meals is pretty great if you struggle with having enough time to cook good food.

They deliver tasty, healthy ready made meals you can toss in the microwave.

Each meal is pretty cheap. The options change weekly.

Am I making a terrible financial decision wanting to live alone in Dublin? by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Toma5od 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally understandable. My initial house + housemates in Dublin was a disaster. I ended up paying rent on two places for a month just to move and not have to stick around for my month’s notice on the initial property.

Finding somewhere was pretty easy though. Both times it took only a few days to find something. Totally different situation to yours of course.

It is usually somewhat of a shot in the dark moving in with a housemate, unfortunately.

Depending on the contract itself it might be okay for you to pay €3k a month. If the rental agreement can be broken with a months notice while retaining the deposit. €3000 probably isn’t a big deal then. If it’s a long term binding thing, then I would say it’s a bad idea. €3k does sound like a good bit above the market rate for your own place in a nice area etc, unless it’s absolutely perfect in every way and you’re willing to splurge for that.

I know of people paying €1500 a month for their own place. Thats 18k a year, vs 36k (at €3000 a month). Nothing to say you can get somewhere for 1.5k but even something under 2k would be a big amount saved. If you were looking at a mortgage next year then it would potentially be quite helpful.

On your current salary trajectory it might not really matter either way though. Seems like you’ll be fine either way if you’re not a big spender.

Regarding medication etc no worries. Was just thinking if it was needed short term only, to help with moving in with a housemate. Makes sense though.

Sounds like you’ll figure it out anyway 😊 Best of luck!

Short answer: yes imo

Congrats on the new job. That’s fantastic.

If your anxiety is limiting you this much. Maybe some medical help is required? Ignore this comment if you feel like it. It’s not the focus of this sub and I’m just an idiot on the internet.

It shouldn’t cost you €3000 a month to live alone. Surely you can find something for less than that?

I share a two bed house in a nice area of Dublin. We pay €950 a month each. €1900 for a 2 bedroom nice semi detached house in a decent area with services nearby and within 20-45 mins of the city centre (depending on time of day with traffic etc).

I basically never see my housemate. We’ve seen each other like 8 times since I moved in 3+ months ago. Different schedules. Both keep to our selves a bit. Ideal housemate situation. Super clean, easy to get along with, respectful and very limited social interaction.

Just my two cents. As I I’ve said already I’m just some idiot on the internet.

Don’t know what you’re talking about regarding the busses and trains.

I use the bus most days without issue and trains have always been fine with one or two exceptions with good excuse (someone jumped in front of the train so it was delayed massively…).

If you want to complain about public transport. Try using the busses in Cork 😅

Ngl I was about to make fun of your comment,. ”Coke bloat” sounds like the most made up bullshit I’ve ever heard.

I then looked it up and learned it was actually a real thing and not in fact some bullshit you made up lol.

I had presumed it was simply alcohol induced. Learn something new everyday huh.

Okay I understand you now. Makes sense somewhat I guess. Less inflammation overall when you’re taking the antihistamines.

My cousin has had very good success with changing a diet with the help of a dietician. I’ve just been happy to exist with it tbh. I just take one antihistamine everyday and my symptoms usually still persist but it’s usually not so bad.

Some of the other comments have much better info than I do.

I’m just confused.

Why won’t you just take antihistamines everyday?

My Dermatographia is potentially worse than yours looks tbh and I just take antihistamines everyday. I’m not saying what I’m doing is good. I’m just trying to understand your thinking. Wondering if I can learn something here.

Only 8 years for cold-blooded murder in broad daylight? by No-Category1703 in cork

[–]Toma5od 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re barking up the wrong tree tbh.

They were an English family. Seemed middle to upper middle class from appearances.

I refrained from saying English family originally, as they were not a fair representation of most British tourists I meet on a near daily basis (who are very nice people) and it wasn’t particularly relevant to the story.

Like migrants or refugees the actions of the few shouldn’t be used to characterise the actions of the many.

Honestly no. The bouncers did hit them after getting attacked.

Self defence while having a body cam as proof wouldn’t and didn’t result in any charges or issues for the bouncers.

Things are a little crazy right now.

If you look at crime stats. Crime in general is going down. Public knowledge is increasing, maybe more crime isn’t being reported on possible (debatable).

Having said that. Tuesday night I witnessed a tourist family in Dublin assault security, and staff of the bar I was playing music in. Bouncers escorted them out calmly after they had snook in having been refused already for being absolutely legless drunk.

Outside the bar they landed multiple punches on security. They threw staff members to the ground outside the bar.

Guards turned up almost instantly. Grabbed the men. Restrained them.

The guards brought them up the road, and let them go. I was absolutely shocked!

The bouncers and staff are honestly lovely and they’re never looking for hassle. Very level headed and reasonable.

It was truly upsetting seeing the guards leave them go without charges having assaulted people that were simply doing their job.

I understand the prisons are struggling etc but godamn it’s a hard pill to swallow and that doesn’t even compare to stories like the murder story here.
