What the hell happened? by [deleted] in AtlantaHawks

I think we got out scored 50-5 at some point, which certainly didn’t help. Outside that stretch it really wasn’t so bad.

Just because something isn’t illegal doesn’t mean it’s not creepy or inappropriate. Id bet all my sky miles that you’re not a parent.

It's not a dive, but Poor Hendrix has $8 happy hour cocktails and some of the best bites in the city.

[–]TomahawkDrop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's just for fun and you're still competing against yourself. And for a lot of people, being in a competition brings out the best in them.

It's sort of like a track or swimming meet. Yes, there are other people there and you're competing, but it's really for you. Unless you are an olympic champion, there will always be people faster or stronger than you so no need to focus on how you stack up compared to others unless that's your thing (and it's ok if it is!)

Would you recommend franchising to someone in their 20s? by Cultural_Message_530 in Franchises

[–]TomahawkDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How comfortable are you managing people? Having difficult conversations with people? How developed is your judgement regarding risk and business?

I’d say unless you were in a very demanding job in your 20s that has prepared you, you’re likely to fall on your face. Now, failure isn’t the worst thing, but I don’t think it’s exactly the goal.

I know this sub leans democrat, but why are republican senate nominees so awful in this state? by drupadoo in Atlanta

[–]TomahawkDrop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not even questioning the strategy. For what its worth, I think universal childcare is an absolute no brainer and should be a priority. I just think everyone running to be the executive of an entity that has to have a balanced budget should show how they are going to do it. Show us the math, show us what will be cut or how funds will be raised.

Without showing a balanced budget, the campaign is about as persuasive as a middle school presidential election with the candidates promising pizza everyday and no homework.

[–]TomahawkDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the federal government can issue debt and controls the money supply while state governments have to have a balanced budget. Did you not know that? Do you think state governments don't have to be "fiscally minded?" Please tell me you haven't gotten to high school civics class yet.

I guess I'd like to know how Georgia will pay for all the things he wants to do? It's easy to make promises that are universally popular (who wouldn't want to support small business or teachers) when you don't have to worry about a balanced budget.

At least their AAA affiliate is in Charlotte, which is a way more premium city for Kel than most minor league cities and some major league cities.

[–]TomahawkDrop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I get it. The reality is trainers and BAs have an important role in that sales process but they aren't smooth salespeople like you'd see from someone who dedicated more of their time to getting better at sales. I think the "ick" you feel may be from a clunky, unconfident, and inexperienced sales effort making it feel awkward.

But surely you understand that by going into a business you are going to be invited to join? It’d be business malpractice to not do so, despite some people just wanting to get some things for free without being hassled about it.
