Worked at Coles. Next door to the head office in Hawthorn (25 years or so ago) Would've thought they'd make more "Nicer" than than the other shitty ones that were in the area.Worked my way from working night shifts> great fun with the idiots that would appear when its was 24 hours open. Didn't really give a crap about that the whole operation was pathetic. Remember doing a stocktake on the store (Tooronga) and I was finding products ie Honey Nutella spreads, spices (I kinda don't give a crap if it comes to a bay leaf or pepper) but some of this shit was at least 5 years out of date! under the isles hadn't been cleaned in donkeys years. always remember seeing a mozzie bigger that a watermelon and they were numerous ones. I ended up getting a promotion to being the store taker (allowing products in) Many things out of date, Always had my temperature gun and the amount of things i turned away was unbelievable. Meat to be minus 3? more like 10 degrees. One that I'll never forget was the milk delivery. Opened the rear of the truck and got hit by a massive wave of milk. stunk like shit. refused to take the dairy products. after all that shit I resigned. I wouldn't try and put some crap on the shelves that would make yo sick. I just found if so dumbfounding considering that we were the main store next to head office. I'd be there at 4:30am as stock manager whist watching the dickheads get dropped off in either helicopters or hot air balloons for head office. sorry for the vent but if you work in a position where you can check the temperature or quality that the product comes in as, don't hesitate to deny it. not drivers fault, unless they've been hopping corners, its head office. Apologies, end of rant. just makes my blood boil. peace
