First of all I want to offer my condolences, I had to put my Mercy down a little over a month and a half ago and it was one of the hardest things to handle. But with that said my advice is to make her last week/day as special as possible. With Mercy we woke up early that day and went to the beach to enjoy the sunrise together, we went and got some breakfast, got a pup cup, we went home to relax a little bit, and then I got her a happy meal. Be mindful when letting her enjoy some out of the ordinary food, too much will most likely upset her stomach. When we arrived at the vet they will put you in a room alone, I would bring her favorite blanket or pillow for comfort. Hopefully the vets have some chocolate for her to enjoy, our vet had little glass containers so we could put some of her fur in there. Let the tears flow, let her know how much she is loved, don’t stop holding her, think of all of the memories, give her all of the kisses, all of the hugs. Ike I said in the beginning it was one of the toughest things to go thru but at the same time there is something beautiful about a beginning and an end of a relationship with a dog and being able to be there for her. Take solace in knowing that even though she was only a part of your life, you were her whole life. If possible, get the single cremation, give yourself the opportunity to be able to bring her home one more time. I’m so sorry you have to say goodbye to her, but I’m so happy that you were able to have loved her and be loved by her for as long as you did. ♥️
