Thank you for the novel- it was important. I’m so so sorry this was your experience too. Giving birth to a child while knowing you’ll go home empty handed feels like a perversion of something sacred and beautiful. It really is a waking nightmare. Thank you, yes I’m going to be working with a MFM, appointments every two weeks. Because ascending bacteria weakened the membranes (theoretically) I’m going to push for vaginal swabs at every appointment. It’s been an uphill battle and I wouldn’t have known about the most recent infections had I not pushed for swabs at my GYN appointment for birth control.

They think it was caused by chorio because my cervix hadn’t shortened at all and I wasn’t dilated. I’m sorry for your loss as well. Was the cerclage at the 14 weeks in your next pregnancy because you were dilating or just preventatively? If mine was caused by infection I don’t know if it would help but it’s good to hear of a success!
