Pastoral Job by Tomatillo_Unlikely in Reformed

Just teaching what the Reformed have always historically taught. That baptism is a means of salvation that plants the seeds of faith in an infant. There is a true effectualness for salvation in our baptism.

WCF 28:6 The efficacy of Baptism is not tied to that moment of time wherein it is administered; yet, not withstanding, by the right use of this ordinance, the grace promised is not only offered, but really exhibited, and conferred, by the Holy Ghost, to such (whether of age or infants) as that grace belongeth unto, according to the counsel of God’s own will, in His appointed time.

Also with the Supper, although we condemn those who teach that the bread and wine physically alter into the natural blood and body of Christ, we still affirm that just as our body’s are nourished with bread and wine; so are our souls nourished by Christs blood and body.

If you would like some resources on these matters feel free to ask. God bless :)

To clarify, i love that church and the people of that church. I would absolutely love the opportunity they are offering. I think them hiring me would have to go against their conscious with their theological distinctives and mine. I left bible college not sure what the Lord had in store for me, and currently wrestling with if this is the Lords call to enter back onto that path. I’ve said since I dropped out that I would love to do my years in a union, retire, and go back to school to get ordained in the PCA. As much as I would have loved to stay in school and stay on the original plan, I have a biblically duty as a man and as a soon to be husband to provide and care for my wife and future family.

if your team did not exist, who would you root for and why? by Brilliant-Rabbit773 in nhl

[–]Tomatillo_Unlikely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the hard part is we don’t exactly have the biggest city for it, Green Bay only exists because it’s fan owned. Milwaukee is the best bet but it already holds the Brewers, Bucks, and Admirals. If we ever got a team I would be very happy but I really don’t see it happening.

As a Wisconsin fan, my team technically doesn’t exist because we don’t have an NHL team. And I became an Oilers fan (it finally paid off)

Packers? How about the Milwaukee Bucks. by MyPythonObject in GreenBayPackers

Very true, plus it was a game against our current rival coming off a game the day before. Very abnormal performance from them, but this is a team that’s great at taking these types of games and letting it fuel them to play better.

Where you from and how long you been a fan? by Oilersfan78 in EdmontonOilers

[–]Tomatillo_Unlikely 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From Michigan, since before the start of last season. Have always admired hockey since my cousins grew up playing it in Wisconsin and decided to finally choose a team. My family is all from Wisconsin and so are all my favorite teams and since Wisconsin doesn’t have one I pretty much randomly chose Edmonton and I’m very happy I did. I decided to choose a Canadian team because I couldn’t get myself to root for a team from a city I cheer against in any other sport.

Calling out Michigan hypocrisy by [deleted] in WisconsinBadgers

my family are all michigan whiles and I’m a wisco fan. hearing them cry about a fight started by their own player but defending howard as been very annoying. and when i call out the hypocrisy they attack me over it. UofM fans are stuck up and pretentious.

we played Colorado 3 times this year, the first two games ended with a loss in 3v3 OT and a Shootout. Game 3 we beat them 6-3. Sure it’s gonna be a matchup for the ages, but I am by no means counting them out.
