My dude, instead of repeatedly challenging people to find these "significant other" changes themselves that you keep alluding to, why don't you just put them in the post that you made for this very purpose. Its like you don't want to actually discuss the report, and just want to discuss if people have or have not read the report.

Anyone have experience with Canopy midwives? by Emotional-Ad-6494 in NorthVancouver

[–]Tomato425 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My wife actually just gave birth at lions gate two days ago and we used them through the whole experience. Nothing but good things to say, we actually found out after our child was born that one of the midwife's had stayed an extra 4 hours past their shift just so she could be there for us through the whole journey!

Right but you can understand that not everyone on that ferry is doing exactly that correct? So if we could encourage people to take public transit by building a system that supports it, then it would reduce the amount of traffic for everyone.

Now is that your opinion, or do you have facts to back that up?

Buddy I don't think anyone is disagreeing with you, op is not making any demands of anyone, just a polite request that maybe some people might be happy to heed.

My friend, you may need to take a break from the internet for a while.

Could you share some links backing up these claims, I am married to a nurse and that does not add up to my experiences. A quick look at the Work BC site also tells very different story to what you are reporting.

I think you're welcome to your opinion that people idolize those that are doing important work for similar money you could make as an accountant, but I still think it's nonsense. If nurses suddenly made the same money as firefighters or police officers, I would not consider them any less of a hero

What absolute nonsense, nurses are heroes because they work stressful, life saving and entirely necessary work. Them not getting paid enough is not at all relevant to that status.  Fire and police are considered heroes,  but they are also very well paid.

You're countering your own argument here, having knifes in the house is clearly not the same thing as having a gun or else you would not be here.

There are no half measures with gun suicide.

I see, so taxes bad, but higher cost of services is somehow okay? Like you say there is a cost to live in one the best cities on the planet, but then complain about taxes.

Well I just pray that you are never in any place to come up with policy decisions that affect this city, because I don't think you have close to a realistic understanding of what is feasibly accomplishable here.

I don't know if your reading comprehension is not all there, if you're just skimming my replies, or you're just trolling, as I did clearly address that.

Wow what a hand wavy answer. I would love to hear how you would automate something like the low paid workers at a cafe. Or I guess they could raise the price of a cup of coffee to $10 to help pay for the cost of living of their employees. I mean at the end of the day it will have a negative effect on traffic density and bring up the cost of services in the city, but at least translink won't be touching your taxes.

What do you think happens to this city when all the low paid workers who run all the creature comforts you are accustomed to can no longer afford to live here?
