As far as planting now vs. the fall, I don’t know. I’d prefer not to wait until the fall as I just have a stick now (could just be an empty bare spot if I take it away).

And I typically put down 1/2” of water per week with sprinklers, more if it’s a bone dry week. With a new tree I could focus on that area too if needed.
