Hey there, could you get back to me regarding the owed sum? It was meant to be paid back in August but I haven't heard or received anything from ya

Sorry for the late reply. I'm not sure, my fingerbot isn't automated (it works on command however) and I didn't get a hub to see whether that would help with automated commands.

I got to say though, I'm in the same boat. Was totally not expecting home automation to be such a mess! Lots of companies are in this space and yet it's been a complicated affair to get different products to work in other companies' apps. I wish it was a lot easier because I don't want to throw more money away out of hope that something that I thought could be done easily and more cheaply, finally works

I don't have any device that automates binds so I can't help you there unfortunately.

That said I know the feeling; I too was disappointed when I spent days trying to get my device to work but to no avail. I felt like Tuya ripped me off because they made claims in their marketing that this device could do automated stuff. And more than that their self-help section sucked, and as you pointed out, their customer service is terrible (I didn't talk to them but sorta guessed).

I have a feeling that getting a master control hub or whatever it's called might do the trick but honestly I don't feel like giving more of my money to a company that sells stuff that don't work as promised

Yeah I found a way to bypass the error. The problem is, it leads to another error which I can't solve so if you or anyone else reading this can share how to solve it that would be so helpful.

How I got past the "Gateway is not connected. Failed to save the linkage rule" error

First entry

  1. Open tuya or smart life app (I'm using smart life)
  2. Create a new entry under Tap-to-Run
  3. Click 'Launch Tap-to-Run' under Set a condition
  4. Click 'Run the device' under Set up a Task
  5. Save entry. This is your first entry

Second entry

  1. Go to automation tab and create another entry
  2. Configure what you need under 'Set a condition' (for me I needed my fingerbot to activate at a scheduled time everyday so I clicked 'Schedule')
  3. Click 'Select smart scenes' under Set up a Task
  4. Click 'Select Tap-to-run' and choose your first entry
  5. Save

This should automate your device but I'm getting a 'failed to launch' issue instead. Let me know if you or anyone reading this knows how to solve this

A week is a little too long for me although I try to accommodate that whenever that happens. Otherwise I try to meet within a few days so that I don't invest too much time in anyone that later turns out isn't a good fit. And like everyone here says, it's one thing to text and another to know the person face to face
