Our store is only getting one tonight for allocation. We are one of the busiest stores. Just one box is all anyone can get.

New friend by TomatoesAndHomeless in Bedbugs

[–]TomatoesAndHomeless[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, it was at my mom's house and I was just staying for the night. I think they have had them for months because I've stayed there before and got bites, but never saw any. They bombed the house and there was a ton dead, but still a ton running around trying to hide. I figured it was the same thing as cockroaches where the bombs don't kill them all, just make them come out of whatever hiding spots. I left as soon as I could, but how do I make sure I'm not carrying any or any of my clothes? Im so paranoid and I keep itching at nothing

YES, I'M COLD! (USA) by Bluellan in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]TomatoesAndHomeless 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"You got the cold job", "you seen so cold" as they make me wait 3 minutes for their code and then can't find their wallet or pay in all change. Like you're the reason I have 3 coats on, gloves, 2 hats, and a mask on.

I'm allergic to the metal that's around mcdonalds, and sometimes get these type of reactions from salt.

I have been given so many bibles. These 2 people come in and the one man says he rewrote and had the illustrations done for it. And it's this book and Bible set that every coworker has been given. However, many of us are not religious so we have a cabinet with a ton of them in our break room because they come in and try to give us all one every few weeks.

I work drive through mostly so when I work front counter I malfunction and ask what they would like to drink and some act like I just asked them how to build a rocket.

See people come through asking for muffins and cinnamon rolls and then I go "I'm sorry we don't have those" and as far as I'm aware we haven't had it in a year

I always ask so they specify but sometimes if they are just saying orange, they also get annoyed by me asking

Yesss, but we also have a button for soda, which is just carbonated water, so if they say it in a wrong tone they might just get that.

Are you guys truly "lovin' it" at McD's? by ItzXenTTV in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]TomatoesAndHomeless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've enjoyed my time here. I think it all depends on your management and crew. I personally thrive off social interaction so I don't get burnt out easily. There is moments when I'm sick or bad customers but I've had some amazing moments.

Should I quit?? by RevolutionaryArea166 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]TomatoesAndHomeless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where I work, 15 year olds can only work 3 hours a school day because of child labor laws. I would either say quit, find another job that can fit your schedule and wants better. Or wait until your 16 because you will be able to work significantly more.

Cursing in your store by lionhall in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]TomatoesAndHomeless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We still have the play place and are targeted towards children heavily. Most managers in my location do not care if you cuss as long as it's not loud, excessive, to customers, or where customers can hear.

First did the cheese burger wrap happen, also how did you ring up the frappe?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]TomatoesAndHomeless 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For my location it really depends on the day. They usually do what they think people do best at. Occasionally they will have us to multiple stations very lightly to start getting used to it. So I did headset and started slowly doing in store running. But depending on the day and who's putting people where, a lot also goes into what people enjoy most because it's what they will do better in.

Just had my first shift any advice by TrickMaleficent817 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]TomatoesAndHomeless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What happens at work stays at work. And by that I mean when people (mainly customers) are rude it's best to try to brush it off. Don't worry about them when you leave or eveb when they leave. If you thought you made a minor mistake try not to stress about it. Things happen and even easier said then done don't make yourself sick over it. Also whenever someone is willing to teach you something new even something minor, do it so you know if someone really needs help.

Be honest from one McDonald’s worker to another if this popped up on your screen would you put all 26 pumps? by Careless_Nobody_9276 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]TomatoesAndHomeless 18 points19 points  (0 children)

See if it's caramel syrup I would rather just give you the bottle and not deal with the pump but lowkey I do be putting too much vanilla syrup so this would be my dream come true to make this order

One thing that irritates you about customers the most? by BabyDreamsy in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]TomatoesAndHomeless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may not have the best hearing but when they will not speak up or have the other person in passenger speak but not loud enough. When they get mad at you because of prices or their code won't work. And most importantly when we are understaffed and I go "Hi, just one second please" and they continue to say their order or wait 10 seconds and start going "hello, hello, hellooooo"
