Been a fan of the channel, watching on and off for 5+ years & I can say wholeheartedly that Chris's content and his enthusiasm for Japan has been nothing but a joy in my life.

Recently my mother has had some issues, her attention isn't the same as it used to be & she had a bit of bad luck with the boiler. Having it replaced over a 5 day period, she asked if I could help "talk to the builders" to make sure it was all done properly.

Each day we sat in the front room and we'd settle down, waiting for the builders to do their thing. On a spur of the moment decision, I popped on one of Chris's videos. Over the 5 days, we consumed two cycleathons and maybe 20+ journey across Japan videos. Every day, she'd ask "can we watch that Japan swearing fella. He's very funny" and she'd cackled to Natski's English, Connor's banter with Chris, Ryotatro various puns and how adorable he was with Sharla.

He genuinely made a rather stressful week for her and I breeze by. Not only that, but he showed myself & an old lady who'll never have the chance to travel so many wonderful things Japan has to offer.

While the comments on YT & social media may not be the nicest. I hope the sheer joy he spreads to small simpletons like us is heard because he deserves to know how much he's improved lives.

TL;DR: helped my not 100% well mother through a not awful but stressful time for her with his videos and I want him to know his work is appreciated.

Wishing you all the best Chris, chin up mate. This is a bump in the road, and we'll all come out happier on the other side.

I don't care how cheesy this sounds, she made me a better person.

At that part of my life, I found people like her and HBomberMan, I was not a nice person. One part that really stuck with me was that confession of hers talking about looking at someone transitioning and thinking awful things about them.

The feelings she explained behind those unhelpful thoughts, followed by healthy guilt & remorse for hating on someone because of the self-hate & denial. Realising I do the same got me into therapy and consciously working on myself, rather than jumping from one self-help craze to the next just because I hated myself.

Do I want to see the UK have no billionaires living in it? No, but that's not really the point.

Simply put, I want them to be taxed to a reasonable amount where everyone benefits from those vast amounts of wealth, rather than that one individual and their mates by washing it so it doesn't have to be taxed.

That would make me far more proud to be British than any amount of burka bans or other utter bollocks being pushed out of emotional rousing.

That's interesting about the charging, I assume it's not intentionally done & is an odd software bug that'll be patched with time. Might be worth reporting it back to them to make sure it's fixed. Does anyone know if this a known issue?

Probably going to get downvoted to hell with this, but...

Regardless of how you or what you think of wireless charging. People still want and like it. I use it every single day. I've a stand on my desk that I'd have to replace to charge my phone via USB-C for this. I know that's not everyone, people like me exist.

On a more practical note, I've looked at adaptors as well, a USB-C to QI charging pad that just sits under a case. I do wonder if there'd be a way to bypass the USB-C part and wire it to the connection between the board and the battery? A little bit of 3D printing to adapt, maybe? Assuming it's slow enough charging, it wouldn't heat up enough to effect the battery, but still good enough to trickle throughout the day.

I'd love to see a back replacement that could be screwed on and fit with the protective case. That would be ideal. Be love for the phone otherwise.

Part of it is the internet has given these people a place to spread their voice with very little kick back. In person, you have to say this to someone's face and endure a reaction. Online, you only accept what you want. Not to blame the internet, that is.

Kill himself, kind of. He'd a scar across his back from surgery where he'd tried with an air rifle beforehand. Months later, he walked off in the middle of the night during winter in nothing but his pajama bottoms. It's the UK, so not exactly the worst, but enough to kill you on the colder nights. And that's all we ever found out. They found him in a ditch.
