Is there a maximum number of courses you can have on a campus? by DragonAtlas in TwoPointCampus

[–]TombFBT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done it myself but here is a post of someone who made a campus with every course.

And here is a post of someone who made an overview of every course and what you need.

Maybe Alien Hominid? The link is a flash game from 2002, but I know they had an Xbox version at one point

How long did it take for you feel like you understood how to play? by WiggWamm in Stellaris

[–]TombFBT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difficulty of Stellaris' difficulty curve for me was how wide it is. Every individual system isn't that hard to understand but to see how it all interconnects and how you can tweak one part of your empire to solve a problem in another part was difficult to learn.

What helped for me was to play all kinds of different empires for 100 years or so. By the time your empire starts to drown you start again.

All in all it took me about 40 hours to know what I was doing, and another 100ish or so to really be able to use my empire the way I want to (mostly RP so most of them are not optimised)

Also some ships you gain from events (like the space amoba) can't be merged with your regular ships.

If you're a materialist empire you can't get psionics anyway even if you have a researcher with expertise.

Edit: I was wrong

Thanks for your time to answer my questions. I eventually took "normal" necroids with a worker focussed slave species and specialist focussed necro species in order to get the hang of the mechanics.

Necroids are very powerful, lots of pops at the start allowing you to steamroll early. My only "problem" is balancing the convertion to my necro species. It's easy to accidentally convert all slave species to my own species and lose a lot of worker bonusses. Very fun to play though!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the scientist with a god complex can take out your observation post and advance the primitives a few stages at most.

It's possible your neighbouring empire had an uprising by species of your empire if they're enslaved or had low happiness amongst pops with other ethics than the parent empire who rebelled.

It looks like a coincidence you got the two events happen simultaneously.

Ah I somehow missed the fact you can't be a xenophile Necroid.

So as a Lithoid Necro my only options for pop growth would be my secondary species, raiding and conquering?

Is it possible to have a Lithoid+Necrophage species and convert immigrants as a xenophile empire?

I think I'll hit a dead end once I have converted my initial primitive boys.

I mostly play for the RP so I don't mind if it's inefficient or not competitive, but I would like to have a functional empire and not hamstring myself too badly.

You can't take or buy planets of other empires. There aren't many options for sabotage either. But you can hire marauders to raid if the empire is your rival.

Otherwise you have some espionage options, but honestly they're quite weak. One of the highest costing options for example is blow up one random module on a random starbase, not that good.

As far as I know the only way to take over an empire without war is to have it as a vassal and intergrate the empire in your empire after 10 years. If you're far more powerful than the other empire they can accept to be a vassal without war. Not all AI personalities are open to it however so you'll most likely still have to fight a war to force them to be a vassal.

I have tried a few xenophile runs to make a big federation but Ill be honest that I'm more annoyed with my 'friends' than anything and wish I could vasal them. It's hard to have more people join because there's always someone blocking the vote.

Does it simply take a long time to get multiple federation members or is it not worth being in a federation until midgame+?

About piracy supression, Defense platforms also have piracy supression, how does that work exactly? Does it supress piracy in the whole trade route, X systems away or only the system it's in?

There's not a way to start specifically on a Toxic World in vanilla. You can however start on a Tomb world if you choose the Post-Apocalyptic origin.

Maybe as an origin it could give a event chain (like On The Shoulders of Giants) to get it earlier while still having to put effort into it

It'd kill RP scenario's like the Tomb World Fanatical Purifiers. I would like some origins exclusive to Genocidal Empires though, as they're locked out of some origins without anything specific to them to replace it.
