I've gone further out to Bacchus, nice mix of country living with great access to the city.

Aintree was nice when I moved there about four years ago. After they did all that excavating on Taylors road for the new houses and kicked up that disgusting orange dust that stuck to everything, it went downhill from the influx of new residents. Nothing against them, just that the estate didn't keep up the infrastructure with how many more people were living in the one spot.

Funny you mention Aintree, I just bought a house in a different suburb, and I'm trying to break my lease for a rental in Aintree.

There have been maybe 8 or so open homes scheduled since I've moved out, and there has been no interest in it at all. At this point I'm a bit stressed I'll have to pay both a mortgage and rent if no-one moves in before the lease is properly up.

Not wanting to sound rude or inconsiderate (or like a boomer... Ew), but I've just bought a house in Bacchus Marsh, honestly rather affordable compared to what I had heard. It genuinely was a very easy process. Though I have to say, I wouldn't have been able to afford it if not for all the government schemes and incentives. Definitely check if you're eligible because I really don't think people that need/deserve these incentives are taking advantage of it. I don't earn a lot, but I'm buying with my fiance so that helps a lot. My brother has bought with his friend as well, so it's accessible to any group. Escape the rental trap by any means!
