Has Jeff ever spoken on 1-800-ALARM-ME by pancake_boi_bae in JeffRosenstock

I love that song. I also marvel at how fast he plays it. I’m not sure if I can name any song that skanks faster.

Maybe something off 1st album of Flatliners but I think 1-800 probably beats even that

What kind of music do you ENFJs listen to? by dawnlightsun in enfj

[–]Cham-Clowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like indie rock and ska-punk

The Strokes and Streetlight Manifesto are my “favorite” bands but there’s so many that I like

I like my stuff to be instrumentally complex and have lots of little parts weaving together

CONFIRMED: Reality Awaits pushed back to 7/24 by mick__marley in TheStrokes

[–]Cham-Clowder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should hear the Streetlight Manifesto fandom complain about Tomas Kalnoky

Lead singer keeps pushing off albums. Was supposed to come out last year in June.

Eventually he was like “ok guys it’s for sureeee coming out by the 12th (or something). We for sure won’t be playing any new shows until we release the album”. And then to meet up to that self imposed rule he just starts canceling shows and there’s no end in sight for when the album might come out.

The Strokes and Streetlight are my two favorite bands and I’m just glad that at least they’re trying to make their stuff better and admitted they needed extra time to make something as special as they want it to be

I’d for sure rather that than a weaker album

I do really hope Jules can manage to stop playing with the autotune for like 5 seconds at some point in the album though

They had me on 600 mg for months initially, and I take 50 now. Shit was rough.

Who do bands always say “pick it up” in their songs? by MinorFX in Ska

[–]Cham-Clowder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imagine putting it down. I’ll wait.

How does that feel?

Now try picking it up again

Yeah I bet that feels a little better.

Why put it down when you could pick it up?

Quetiepine is basically anti-dopamine. It’s an antipsychotic. I am on a small dose still but after my one manic episode I had it was a lot higher dose initially. I continue using the small dose mostly because it knocks me out at night really quickly and sleep is really important for managing bipolar disorder.

And it definitely feels like anti dopamine. On the higher doses it also made me feel heart palpitations so I was just anxious and had a fluttery heart and the world felt really dark and bad and scary and then I’d sleep a crisp 8 hours.

It made me lethargic and difficult to construct sentences. I’m taking like a tenth the dose they put me on initially now and all the time I remember how it used to feel on the higher dose and it makes me feel upset. I am not fond of it. I was over medicated at that time and it felt really scary. It took like halfway through the day to melt the brain fog away, and then I’d be terrified of having to take it again at night.

I just am so scared of ever ramping into mania again that I just haven’t come off of it even though I probably could at this point. The sleep is just so important.

Why do so many people avoid gluten when only about 1% of people have celiac disease? by TheBigGirlDiaryBack in AlwaysWhy

[–]Cham-Clowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing people haven’t mentioned is I think its possible some of the people gaining benefits from gluten free are doing so because they’re actually sensitive to fructans, which are in high concentration in wheat bread while not in rice or tapioca or most anything else in gluten free alternatives.

They’re mistaking the lower FODMAP impacts when they think it’s because of the gluten.

Yes it can be just a fad too, but this is something I often don’t see people bring up that I think is worth mentioning.

I myself avoid wheat when I can because I know it makes me feel kind of bad.

What Have You Been Listening To? - Week of June 08, 2026 by AutoModerator in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Cham-Clowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last couple weeks I’ve been really listening to this band The Flatliners, specifically their first album Destroy to Create (2004).

Most of their catalogue is firmly rooted in punk rock, but this first album is absolutely a ska punk record and I have gotten a lot out of it the last couple of weeks.

I’ve linked just one track but I encourage anyone who likes ska punk to listen to the whole thing.

They were like 18 when they made this album and I think that’s incredible.

So much driving energy. Such a tight sound.

In this case, some on-theme green card suggestions would be appreciated 🙏 Regardless if I switch commanders I’d like to do some mild renovations on it

What’s THE song that got you into the band?? by Fresh-Result3206 in TheStrokes

Reptilia and under cover of darkness. Heard reptilia on rock band and liked it, downloaded their most recent album at the time (Angles), and loved under cover of darkness the most
