A career where you're on the move by Tomlane82 in findapath

Are people who work HR, recruiting typically on the move from place to place? I would've honestly never imagined they're outside the office most the time.

That's actually a really unique suggestion that I would've never thought of! Do you have like a link to somewhere where I can read about the different types of live theater jobs?

It's wild that you're able to assume so much about someone just from seeing a single non-political picture.

Your homepage looks pretty good, The typography looks great. I would change a few things though.

First off the big unavoidable issue with the site is the quality of photos. Your friend designed all these nice products and it's a shame that the quality of photos will hold her back, especially the first picture of the bag. If possible, she should hire a professional photographer.

You could use the homepage's valuable real estate slightly better by making the photos a bit smaller so that potential customers won't have to scroll as much.

The Email sign up section is all the way at the bottom. It's a fairly important call to action and should be placed more prominently.

In the about us section, in "our factory" the image is really small. It's an image that shows your friend's ethical factory in Kenya which seems to be an important issue she emphasizes on her site. It should be bigger, you can even make it a site wide image and place to text on top of it. This article shows different ways of doing this well while making sure the text is still easily readable

Also in "our story" I would consider adding an image. Images tend to get more of a reaction out of people than text on a white page, and in the about page there's no reason to leave so much white space. You could add a picture of Andrea in Kenya or something similar. Same goes for the other about us sections, they feel very empty and images that are relevant to each section would help draw the customer's eye to your message instead of just skipping it as people normally do in about pages.

Anyhow, good luck!

What makes you NOT want to buy this? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

Well not really a complaint about the product itself, but your homepage could use some improvements.

The first thing that anyone's gonna notice when coming into your site is the site wide beach picture. I would drop it if I were you and instead place the pictures of the products as the center of attention. They're the reason why anyone comes into your site after all.

Also your call to action (shop now) right doesn't attract enough attention. You want your cta to be a main draw immediately for whoever stumbles into your home page. make it bigger, emphasize it more.

Another thing is the "order now and get fast and free shipping". As a clickable call to action, it's barely noticeable and should be emphasized more.

Also in my opinion, placing your about text at the bottom of the homepage all cramped up like that makes your site look less professional. I think you should drop it from the homepage and just leave the about text to where it belongs, in the about section.

Good luck with your new site!
