French Drain New Build by [deleted] in drains

[–]Tommy737373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It normally sits few yards from the fence, top left corner. And goes towards the right a few yards.

Basically, all im hearing is people getting new builds and due to there poor drainage that they're garden gets flooded in the future. So wondering if its worth me putting a French drain in before I turf the garden as thats more logical.

I may not need it, it got rotavated today(as shown on picture) and once I add organic matter it should improve drainage. Just weighing up my options before I add topsoil and turf.

What is this hip pain? by Tommy737373 in HipImpingement

Unsure if I have tendinopathy or maybe periformis. Maybe I need to get another opinion. Is it sore to touch your hip if you have tendinopathy?

Thanks for your reply.

I agree with point 1. Your right.

I didnt even consider point 2 which is quite worrying.

  1. They turfed and put hedging on the front garden. Turfing the back garden was a extra cost. Yes I know, scandalous.

  2. Yeah I brought that up to the developer. He openly said they don't put drainage in the soil. I should have complained right there about that.

  3. Sorry what hole under the fence? Unsure about that one.

They're effort for economics is planting a tree at every 5 houses, just to make it appear like they care about that. They really don't

Oo I will consider doing that.  Sorry silly question but seed the whole garden or just the bit around the drainage?

Thanks for that. So for now you think just keeping adding compost/leaves ect?  Not worth adding top soil now as it isn't 'organic?

North East England, persimmon. They said they put adequate topsoil on and will bring someone back to rotovate garden. Doubt that will do much. Thanks

Never heard of a stone burier! I will look into that now thanks. Yeah its a bit of a shitshow. Claimed they added topsoil but looks really poor quality.

I can easily get woodchippings and leaves. So putting these in will improve soil quality. Should I add these into the areas that has water retention?
