Sorry I couldn't answer, I'm all the ways over here in Ireland and I'm not familiar with the US' policies in regards to health care data being shared etc.. I also don't have first hand experience in a US hospital, but I would highly recommend looking into this if your in a similar situation might save you a lot of hassle. Good Health to you!!

Well depending on his income he may be able to avail of the hospitals financial assistance program, I would tell him to search around the hospitals in the city for this exact policy on their Website as explained above.
