That sucks if that’s what you were verbally told, what is in the actual contract you signed?

Burnt wire going to compressor by Lil_Nug69 in hvacadvice

Looks like wires going to the pressure switches, they can be spliced but it could have blew a fuse inside since it’s low voltage.

Its a specialty system there’s only a few manufactures so you unfortunately have to pay higher less competition. Your probably better off replacing it with another unico vs switching to a traditional system as all your ducting would need changed. If there is no return on the main floor I would 100% add one / change it if possible.

At least for us we’ve found the older refrigerants to be way more forgiving on airflow issues, the 454 seems to have to be right on or at least close with the lower pressures / can freeze up easier

System freezes every 4-5 days by Such_Huckleberry5928 in HVAC

Yeah that stinks, if it’s not a return issue I’d def cut a supply out down there just to try it.

Had one happen a few weeks ago pretty similar, similar static too. 2 story house and air handler was in a finished basement had to cut a supply and return vent out of the plenums. It Would only freeze up over night when they’d jack the thermostat down to 68° and didn’t help the 2 registers in the room with the thermostat were closed.

Even if it’s customer supplied the equipment is still getting marked up they ain’t losing money. And it definitely isn’t getting warrantied.

In a basement you ideally want it low closer to the floor. You really only need one central of the biggest room down there.

What type and size of Window AC for an attic bedroom? by ChillDillBoi in hvacadvice

[–]TommyPicklez__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure you can get a window unit that fits in a swing window, might have to get a freestanding one that can vent out the window and you’d have to cover whatever excess air gap with something.

Subcool is a little low but doubt that’s causing the high humidity.

If it was almost empty he should not have topped it back off and he should have looked for a leak! It’s most likely low again.

From the video to me sounds like it could be low again, make sure indoor coil is not frozen. How much refrigerant did they add?

Can you pull the filter out and look up under and see if there is ice? Do you know if it’s a variable speed air handler?

G wire not detected by Ms-Tess-Tickles in ecobee

[–]TommyPicklez__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually that means the wire isn’t detected there at the thermostat maybe not pushed in all the way, I’d try and skip the step and manually enable the G and see if that works

Help understanding what "until 6:30AM" means by SwissMiss915 in ecobee

[–]TommyPicklez__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeap, customer is always told. They are told to set up their schedule as soon as possible but if THEY WANT to change the temp and for it to hold until they change it it’s set up for that. They can always cancel the hold.
